People rave about this place so we popped over and grabbed a takeaway All dishes completely tasteless . Will be giving a wide berth in future

Thought the starters, sides and general atmosphere was pretty good but the chicken Dhansak was the spiciest iv ever had and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. £4.50 for a pint of flat Diet Coke served out a bottle was a bit cheeky aswell. Speisekarte ansehen

Went we the Purple Ivy last night table of 4. It was a great meal. I loved the House Special they gave me extra coriander which I love. We had wine and beers and it came to £100 which was great value for a great quality meal. We’ll be back.

Visited with old work mates. The decor is inviting, the service and staff were excellent. We weren't rushed and once ordered the food came promptly. I had a chicken balti and naan. It was a good sized portion and very good. Highly recommended.

Went midweek, a table was made available. The service throughout the meal was exemplary. The menu is very good with dishes we had not sampled before. The food was fantastic, my only quibble being the amount of sauce, it was beautifully spiced, but perhaps if we had a bread it wouldn’t have mattered as much. Terrible service and mediocre food. I hate sitting down and waiting for nearly half an hour to get a drink and we got one cause called someone in the end. We got nothing unless we called someone for it, terrible service and they looked miserable like they had some where better to be . Food was ok but nothing to get excited about won’t be rushing back there. They obviously had their locals and were friendly and attentive with them but if you weren’t a local u may as well not bother.

Friends introduced us to this little curry restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff who introduced themselves and quickly took our order. I had the duck tikka starter which comprised of only 3 pieces and was a little overcooked. For my main course I had my usual king prawn vindaloo which although tasty was probably the spiciest I have ever had. The portions of the curries and rice we had were all generous but the naans were on the small side. All said and done it was a nice meal with very good service throughout.

My partner and I wanted a midweek takeaway so decided to book a takeaway from the Purple Ivy. As it’s the nearest to us. We had high hopes and we were looking forward to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can’t fault that at all. The main issue was the main dishes. The meat we had was very dry and tough and the sauce, for me was both overly sweet and lacked spice. It was bland. Maybe this was just a one off and a bad day as I see the Purple Ivy gets good reviews. So don’t let this review put you off. We may give them another go and see how it goes. But on this one occasion.
