"I highly recommend the beer, the clientele, and the food/snacks at this restaurant. Don't expect to always get the correct change, but that just adds to the excitement. They do serve ham, egg, and chips, just not on Wednesdays or weekdays, so be sure to do your research before getting upset. The cheese is delicious, and if you happen to split your pants, they will even repair them before you leave. What more could you want?"

"it’s been a few months, but we were so shocked at the time it’s taken a while to process. To cut a long story short if possible; we booked as a family on a Sunday (my husbands originally from the area, we heard there was a new chef) and we’d eaten here in previous years. We arrived, mid Sunday lunch, 1.00 o’ clock, and were greeted by no-one?! Wasn’t overly busy, surly, miserable barman/landlord??..behind the bar ..merely pointed us towards a lovely if somewhat clueless waitress? She went to ‘check the book’ which seemed no help at all, and then nervously showed us to our table. As we were sitting , a somewhat distraught looking untidy young lady appeared from a side door carrying three cups ..making tea/coffee for staff I presume, didn’t look great in front of customers I have to say We decided to go straight to Mains, Roast Beef was ok, not at all over cooked, just chewy? Potatoes were best ever?! Yorkies and veg like wise ..shame about the meat. Desserts ..I mean I’m controlling my language here ..lemon curd tart..was a dry piece of burnt pastry with some lemon curd on top..I mean seriously??!..are they taking the p**s?! We Didn’t complain as it was my Mum’s birthday but seriously ..WAKE UP!!"

"We had lunch here whilst staying on the campsite, and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. The lightly dusted calamari starter was all coating and very little calamari, and tough to eat. The house burger The burger patty was nice and well seasoned, and the bacon was really good, but the chicken breast was dry and overcooked. The fries were on the cusp of being incinerated, and were mainly hard. The ones that weren 't though were really nice, so that was a shame. The onion rings looked great, and were definitely home made, but they just tasted of cooking oil. Again, a real shame. The pork belly was also overcooked. There was nobody else eating in the pub when we were there, so not sure whey most of the meal was overdone. The main meals are Two for one , but at £20.00 for the burger, are they really? Nobody checked in on us when we were eating, so couldn 't give any feedback. They do serve a good pint of Guinness though. Maybe it was just an off day, and hopefully others have a much more positive experience."

"We stayed at this Hotel for 2 night, booking 6 rooms of various types. From the moment we booked we felt completely at ease that there would be no problems. Tracy the owner was just so lovely. She, and all her staff couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The first night we ate in the restaurant and the food was superb. The breakfast was lovely with a great choice. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Top Mark's to the Lovely Tracy and her great team ."
