We had a wonderful dining experience at The Angel Inn. All of us chose the fish pie, which had been highly recommended, and it certainly lived up to the praise! The staff who attended to us were warm, friendly, polite, and very efficient. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to others.

AVOID! Poor service. Called ahead to confirm what time they were serving until, to which we were informed that the kitchen is open to 8.15. We arrived at 7.20, we were made to wait for 10mins after which a rude server told us they were not serving anymore. There were loads of empty tables. Service: 1 Location: 3

Being a local of Petworth a friend and I decided to pop in for a couple of drinks. As we entered the bar I got the strong impression the pub was set up for diners only. As we were only a couple the only place to sit was on a table that could accommodate six. The barman couldn't be bothered if we were there or not. As for a pub, it had no atmosphere what's so ever. Might just have been the wrong time. I will give it one more try and see if there is any improvement. Speisekarte ansehen

I chose to spend a night in Petworth since I had never been there before. Although we arrived a bit early, we were warmly welcomed by Will, who was very friendly and helpful. We were shown to a delightful room that was full of character and charm. We then headed down to the bar and enjoyed the lively banter between the staff and regulars. It was such a friendly place that made us feel right at home. The cooked breakfast the next morning was wonderful as well. I highly recommend it—there are great antique shops nearby, charming streets, and Petworth House and its grounds are absolutely stunning.

We had dinner for six, and everyone ordered a different dish from the menu. I started with squid, which turned out to be quite salty. I had requested sea bream with chips instead of potatoes, but what I received was a plate with only the sea bream on it, accompanied by a bowl of potatoes and chips on the side. When I mentioned my order to the male waiter, he brought back just the fish—without any lemon, dressing, or even a hint of seasoning. He should have explained that the potatoes were mixed with vegetables and couldn’t be served separately. To make matters worse, he rolled his eyes when I tried to clarify my order. Additionally, the English mustard I asked for never arrived at the table....

Won 't be visiting again. Ordered roast dinner, which was inedible. Beef was all fat. Roast potatoes like bullets, couldn 't be cut. For some reason beetroot was on the plate. Never known with a roast before. Yorkshire hard. Some round rock hard thing...we assume perhaps celeriac?! Couldn 't tell as was tasteless. We had 2 mouthfuls at most and couldn 't eat it. Told the waiter, who 's attitude was a lot to be desired. He stated, oh well they were last two ,so probably been sat an hour! We said we would pay for the drinks and leave.
