"Looking for a pleasant lunchtime snack, my two friends and I chanced upon Bluebells Tearooms opposite Battle Abbey. It is clear that the tearooms are stylised to hark back to good times past. There are flowers in posies on the table, delicate bone china crockery and nostalgic music playing. We were served with exemplary politeness and good manners. In short everything is done to recreate an environment where the customer is king or queen and everything is well with the world. The food itself was well presented, reasonably priced and very tasty. Bluebell’s target clientele is certainly not for youngsters, and personally I loved the experience. Long may Bluebells continue to provide this haven of culinary serenity!"

"We were a large group looking for a pub restaurant in between two families, neither of us local, to celebrate a special birthday and we certainly made the right choice! James and his team were completely accommodating of some specific requirements we had, they were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was lovely and the service excellent we all had a wonderful celebratory Sunday Lunch and were so pleased we chose The Queen's Head, we would definitely recommend!"

"We hosted a 60th birthday party at this restaurant yesterday and the venue and staff were incredibly accommodating. Our party of 25 was given exclusive use of the rear of the restaurant. I brought some decorations and balloons, which the venue kindly set up for us. We opted for a buffet, which was delicious, plentiful, and great value for money. We also brought a cake, which was kept hidden until the right moment. Guests praised the venue's appeal and the staff's efficiency, despite the restaurant being busy. We highly recommend the pornstar martini trees, which were a hit with the younger guests. Special thanks to Rebecca and her team for making the party unforgettable!"

"For the past six months I have looked forward to my weekly visits to Trinity. The menu is varied with a plethora of daily offerings and the environment offers a warm,convivial environment for all from family dining, quiet intimate settings, or even special functions. I commute weekly between Ukraine, Chişinău in the Republic of Moldova and UK. The past 18 months have taken a toll on me, both physically, and emotionally. Trinity offers a brief and embracing escape from each week's images I can't release from my mind and soul. And I would be remiss if I did not state that I've fallen in love: Sadly, it's not often we receive superior service from staff in some restaurants. However, without question, each time I arrive I find myself embraced with a warm smile, embracing arms and unparalleled service. What else could one ever ask for? The greeting is as delicious and soul warming as their wonderful tuscan style French Onion Soup. Très been Trinity! Mon Dieu!"

"We were in search of a good place for a Sunday Roast and the reviews led us to The Plough. We were not looking for the type of pub that offered 'amazing value for money' or 'more than you could eat', so the menu and reviews convinced us to give The Plough a try. The car park was a bit small, but since we arrived early it was not an issue. Our table was ready for us as we had made a reservation. The Sunday menu selection was not extensive, but it had everything we were looking for. Once we tasted our chosen main courses, we knew we had made an excellent choice. The portions were generous, and everything was well-cooked and nicely presented. The dessert was also delicious with a homemade quality to it. The service was outstanding throughout our meal, and we left knowing we would definitely return in the future."
