Beautiful home made cooked food. Both the lasagne and the lamb burger were gorgeous. So nice to see a place catering for the gf diet. The gf sticky toffee pud was to die for! Our first visit but will not be the last. Very well kept beers in a comfortable setting

After frequenting this pub for many years we were disappointed with the new people running it. We found the staff to be rude, the food sub standard and a very grimy looking chef! If we had have seen the chef prior to ordering the food we would have left. Would definitely not recommend.

The restaurant is excellent. The steak and wine special is fantastic, and the food is perfectly cooked to your preference. The wine selection is great, with nothing to criticize. The service is attentive and the owner is always courteous and welcoming. I enjoy dining here. The only downside is the limited outdoor seating, but I will definitely return as it is a great spot.

Fabulous!! I loved every second of our stay here and would definitely recommend to others and stay here again. We visited with two babies and all the staff were excellent, made us feel welcome and looked after us. The room was sparkling clean, bedding pristine and the facilities were great. The breakfast was delicious. I can honestly say this was the best and nicest hotel I have ever stayed in I loved everything about it Thank you!

We have visited a number of times and this evening was probably the most relaxed of them all. We ordered food which arrived in good time:hot and very good portion sizes. 4 people 2 x Mexican chicken, 1x Lasagnia and a Broccoli and pasta bake. The staff were friendly and took time out to chat. We arrived early but no problems. We were allowed to bring our small dog in to the pub, which is always appreciated. Will certainly come again.

Only a 10 min ride away but never tried this place before. Midweek Teatime/early evening, only one drinker in on arrival, welcomed by lady at bar, explained the menus were on the blackboards around us. Took drinks to table and she followed to take our food order. Food was all freshly cooked and we were full at the end. £38 for large white wine, pint of coke and 2 bar meals. Just above average price wise in my opinion an it was nice food.

A family lunch on a Sunday. Straightforward Beef, chicken pork roast dinners. Diners can choose small medium or large large means a portion of each meat! The food was piping hot, different meats had and all were tender top quality. Each lunch comes with mash roasters a home made Yorkshire pudding. Loads of veg to share lashings of gravy delicious. However the reason we return over over is the terrific landlord friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is made welcome and at ease. Too full for dessert on this occasion but we will be back Thank you

It's no surprise that you have to pay before you eat at this restaurant because you definitely wouldn't want to after! I had a terrible lunch consisting of a microwave tuna cheese wrap with processed cheese, chili fries with more processed cheese, and frozen chips with extremely dried out chili. The meal cost £5, so I guess I can't complain about being robbed. Sadly, my friend ordered the £14 chili and it was a complete joke. I don't understand how they thought it was acceptable to serve such terrible food. Overall, it was a horrific dining experience and I will not be returning. I will also be sure to warn others about how awful the food was.

Stayed at the restaurant on the 29th of September for 2 nights with 2 other couples. I was quite disappointed with the size of the room (Salt End room), especially compared to our friends' much larger rooms. The ensuite was also very small, making it hard to move around. We didn't even unpack our bags since there was only a small rail behind the door. This room would be better suited for a solo traveler. However, the bed was comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. As a celiac, my food was adjusted to accommodate my dietary needs.
