"Garbage went in Sunday 7thJuly. Stuck to floor stuck to bar and table. Glasses hung up over bar looked like they were placed there after someone had finished there drink. Waited at bar young girl strolled over and said do want something lol . Ordered two cocktails vile . No orange and Prosecco flat in cocktail all soda water. Pints watered down . Pub looks okay on first impressions but not once in maybe why it wasn’t busy. No atmosphere. Staff looked happy to be there too lol . Can’t comment on food didn’t risk it. Such a shame."

We shared 3 x small plates. Good portion sizes and dishes were warmed. Staff lovely and friendly. A bonus that we even got a free pint of Peroni on our MIXR apps. Speisekarte ansehen

Drinks were terrible the head on the pint was terrible toilets were disguised feaces down the toilet urine up the wall try to dispute with staff and what an attitude

Dynamic pricing is illegal. Brewery sets the pricing not the establishment or staff. £26 for two vodkas and a rum. Don't think so. Very slow service would not recommend or return.

Nice enough pub , staff are fine . Food is not so good. Second visit there to see if I was unlucky with the food the first time . A year had passed, and to be honest the food was below standard . I would go again but only for a beer. Speisekarte ansehen

Didn't eat in here but it's not a food place I would ever think of going . One tip I would give management is on your coffee machine the steam arms should be cleaned after every coffee made and purged before every coffee made. We sat and watched 2 coffees made and not once was the arms cleaned or purged but I'm sure the staff should know .

Came in today and partner got it by a pool ball from a customer to hit it t9o hard the manger came over put ice on her leg and took pictures of the leg she in a lot of pain he advised us to call 111 service get adviced manger took our details and very helpful . Put it would have bin nice if the manger told the guys to go steady put did not.

"Have never been to this pub before as recently moved to Horncastle and we have devised a list of all the pubs to visit. We have visited a few since moving, but this far outweighs the others. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and the DO catered for all my needs, the dishes for both needs were amazing. Food normally is bland and poorly presented, but not in this case, the taste was amazing and presentation was the same as I would expect from a high end restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, that we booked in for the following week with friends. Staff very polite and friendly it was a pleasure being in their company. I could go on raving about this gem but I will stop, but it won't be our last visit that's for sure. Dietary restrictions: Gluten and Dairy Free. Husband all in Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips, Haddock Hand Cut Fries, Steak and Ale Pie, Lemon&Lime Cheese Cake"

"An overnight stay in the Gold room at Magpies; a well-appointed comfy room with big en-suite. No car park but parking bays on road directly in front of hotel. Friendly efficient arrival. Good value DB&B. For dinner we were seated in the cosy lounge and...ate 3 amuse bouche whilst browsing the menu of around 8 choices for each course. the dishes had been well thought thought out and provided something a little different from the run-of-the-mill restaurant dishes. An excellent wine list included lots of half bottles – which is good when you and your husband have entirely different tastes in wine. Wine selected and poured, we moved to our table where we were presented with a selection of 4 breads – all warm delicious. I started with the salmon fishcake then a main of cod lobster; my husband chose crab for starter then lamb cannon and hotpot for main. Then onto desserts – chocolate pave and crème brulee, with dessert wine. All delicious! The service was attentive without being obtrusive -a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Would definitely stay and eat here again. Highly recommended"

"Living in the Lincolnshire Wolds finding somewhere nice to eat is a little challenging at times. Yes you can get pub grub but if you are looking for something a little special its difficult. It was our second visit this month on a Thursday evening. Food was excellent , service with a smile from Nicky. Little bit pricey but you would expect that with with the quality of the food and the service. Would highly recommend."

"Every time we visit Horncastle, we always end up at this restaurant. However, the quality of the food and service has become so inconsistent that it's time to try out other dining options. During our most recent visit, we arrived half an hour before closing time and ordered poached eggs on toast. It was not a good sign when the waitress audibly sighed upon taking our order. The eggs were served in a lackluster manner, floating in a pool of vinegar water with runny yolks, accompanied by soggy, cheap Sunblest white bread on the side. The rushed service continued as the waitress, noticing my wife browsing the gifts upstairs, inquired about her whereabouts before checking the time on her watch. While the chef has always been reserved, the food and service used to make up for it. Unfortunately, it now only qualifies as 'good in parts'."
