"What an unexpected delight! We wanted a dog friendly pub in Northampton at short notice, and this was perfect! Although not in the, shall we say, poshest area of Northampton, the pub is superbly presented, with a lovely open and large bar area, with plenty of tables, and well behaved dogs are welcome. The food was delicious. We both had a superb pie and mash steak ale and ham hock, chicken leek, followed by sumptuous desserts. To make it even better there 's a good selection of craft beers I had a pint of Plumptiousness, which was excellent. And to top it all off, they even cooked a couple of sausages for us to give our pup. Super friendly staff, clean and well appointed absolutely faultless from start to finish"

Table for 4. First time all of us had a meal at the Lamp. It didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely beautiful. Great staff and a real chilled out atmosphere. Not too pricey and you get plenty. If you want quality than quantity then The Lamp is for you.

Unquestionably the best pub in Northampton. I believe the true strength of any establishment lies in its people, and the staff here are incredibly friendly and polite. They make every interaction a pleasure. The pub boasts a wide selection of ales and the food quality is unmatched!

Lovely little back street bar, good booze on tap, did not try the food, because there was a party going on and the kitchen was catering for that, understand that, but they should maybe think about splitting their time to handle other diners. Hey ho. But they were up front about it and very friendly. Worth a little stumble in Speisekarte ansehen

This is a beautiful spot for dining and drinks. We visited for Sunday roasts and were pleased by the great selection of dishes. There was plenty of delicious meat options, including beef, pork, nuts, and even turkey. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they even treated us to a complimentary ice cream with our desserts. We also indulged in an incredible espresso martini that was a delightful treat. Highly recommended!

There were five of us in total, and we ordered a range of dishes including fried dinner, pork, roast beef, gammon, and a nut roast. The food was outstanding—perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I also believe The Lamplighter offers excellent value for money; it’s not the cheapest option, but it isn’t overpriced like some gastro pubs that charge nearly £20 for a basic roast. It was a 45-minute drive home for me, and I have to say that I would happily make the journey again for food like this. Many thanks to the staff and owners for doing such a fantastic job!

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
