Great dining experience with a lovely atmosphere and friendly service. The prices are reasonable for a pub-style eatery. The locals are welcoming and entertaining. We’ll definitely be back for more food and drinks soon!

I recently moved to the village and was excited to try my new local pub. The staff are wonderful and very friendly, and the Sunday roast is absolutely fantastic. It’s also welcoming to both kids and dogs. This place truly embodies a proper Yorkshire pub. I can't recommend it enough!

Fantastic service throughout the week our large party (40+ has been in the area. Went with family and a dog, nice friendly relaxed atmosphere. Good choice of drinks at a fair price. Nice menu, i had the steak and ale pie followed by bakewell sponge with ice cream, i was told the pie was home maid, it was filled with plenty of steak and looked really professionally made.highly recommend that you try this lovely country pub. The restaurant has recently reopened and offers delicious home-cooked meals. Our vegetarian friends were especially impressed with the cheese and onion pie. I enjoyed a fantastic pint of Black Sheep IPA. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, with a wider variety of vegetarian options than you typically find on pub menus. They were also willing to prepare additional items upon request that weren't on the menu. Overall, we had a lovely lunch experience.

Fantastic pub run under a brilliant new landlord. Feel very welcome whenever I go in and there is plenty to eat and lots of events. They alternate bingo and the quiz weekly which is a great idea and always a brilliant atmosphere. Well worth a visit for food and drink. We received a wonderfully warm and friendly welcome during our visit. We stopped by on a whim for a meal after attending Yarndale, and even though the restaurant was fully booked, they managed to find us a table. The staff made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the roast dinner and sticky toffee pudding, both of which were absolutely delicious. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area. Have been several times since it has reopened under new management and it has been excellent every time. Food is amazing, lots of choice (including for Veggies, vegans and gluten free) and very fresh with good portions. Staff are great, really friendly and accommodating. We went with a big party for Sunday lunch and they moved us to an alternative table when we arrived to give us more space with no fuss which was great. Beer garden lovely out the back and now gated which makes it feel safer for kids/dogs. Plenty of car parking available which is great. If you're a vegetarian, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. I visited on Mother's Day, which also happened to be my birthday, and I was there with my parents and my daughter. Unfortunately, they didn't have my first menu choice available. The only alternative was a cauliflower dish, which I couldn't eat. The chef was not very accommodating at all; I would have been fine with just a couple of veggie sausages and vegetables, but they didn't offer anything else. Not even a simple soup. The apology I received was laughable, and I ended up having to settle for a child's frozen pizza and chips.
