I cannot praise this pub enough. The staff are all lovli, smiley and welcoming. Had me old favoirite briskett and mash. If u want good home cooked meals this is the place for you

My wife and I always visit here if we are needing a cheap, homemade and satisfying Sunday dinner. The staff are fantastic, friendly and never leave you waiting. The food is always tasty and comes in generous portions.

This is one of the best pubs in the area for food and service. I have been a couple of times recently and have on both occasions been impressed by not on the quality and price of the food but also the very friendly service. Highly recommended.

Five of us ate here this week and have to say everything was delicious. Huge portions and piping hot when it arrived. We all ate different items but everything was delicious. Staff are all great and nothing was a bother. The bottle of Shiraz was very nice also.

Visited The Travelling Man on several occasions now trying various things off the menu. Today was the fish combo with a Side of curry sauce, the partner had Chinese chicken curry. Both meals were fantastic, the fish was incredible. Chips are absolutely mega! Guinness was cold and customer service is fantastic. Can’t knock it!

Called in the other day with my brother for a couple of pints and food. We were quickly seated and were about to go and order drinks but the waitress offered to bring them over nice touch. The menu is really good, lots of options. I went for the hot beef dip and brother went for the Trav Tower Burger, both came with home made chips. Food was excellent quality and all freshly cooked. I'll definitely be returning soon. It did get busy so might be an idea to prebook.

Went there hoping to have lunch. Was greeted at the door with “there’s a half hour wait”. No hello, no smile, nothing. Was told at the bar we could eat outside so asked for the menu. Was handed one only offering basket meals of burgers and snacks. The outside area was bleak. Old cigarette packets under the table, not a plant in sight. We left. Went to the pub up the road where we could eat anything from the menu outside and the place was colourful with summer flowers.

Went with the other half for a spontaneous lunch, arrived and carpark pretty much full thought not going to get seat. Pleasantly greeted at the door and advised there was a table but a wait on food, asked to take a seat while table was being cleaned. Ordered drinks and swiftly arrived. Food order taken and again swiftly arrived. We had starter and main each and were seated served and paid the bill within an hour! Now if that’s what you call a wait on food then I’m more than happy to wait for the fantastic food they serve! Well done guys and gals! Have a very happy Christmas we will be back in the new year (if not before)

The Travelling Man is popular at the best of times but Sunday Lunch means you will have to wait for a table as they don’t do bookings. The wait for a table for 8 was only 10 to 15 minutes which was fine. Between us there was a Beef Sunday dinner, a Pork Sunday dinner, mince and dumplings x2, Childs Sunday dinner X2 and Yorkshire pudding roll x2. Service was really good, the waitresses obviously used to being busy. Our meals didn’t take long to arrive and they were piping hot. Beef and Pork was plentiful. Only disappointments are the price of soft drinks and the people having mince and dumplings would have liked more mince.
