There food is always excellent. I keep coming back here for there salmon dishes ; they change but always nice. My partner ends up with burgers

I recently tried the Wednesday Carvery at this restaurant and was impressed by the succulent vegetables and tender slices of pork and turkey. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was friendly. Thank you, Natalie!

first time back since 2019 100% better now than back then all 5 meals were superb no complaints from any of us home made pies were delicious as were all other meals, great value for money also great selection of drinks defiantly wont leave it as long to visit the next time.

Very busy pub, food and drinks a table for 4. Rack of ribs in BQ sauce chips,mushrooms and onion rings, bottle of Pino for the ladies 2pints each for the gents. Barnsley lamb chop which is enormous and similar accompaniments as ribs, very succulent. Good service, clean and friendly. Have been back again last evening, just as good.

Returned here after a fairly long absence for a birthday treat. My wife had her usual Sirloin Steak whilst I plumped for the Chilli Con Carne. We were both extremely pleased to see that nothing had changed for the worse since our last visit. The menu has changed slightly but you still get a great value meal in friendly, welcoming surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit in the new year. Speisekarte ansehen

Very welcoming and accommodating pub, who we called to see if we could watch the Lionesses in the semi-final of the Football World Cup. They put the match on for us on a large TV in a seating area, and we settled in from when they opened at lunch. We all had several rounds of drinks and some bought lunch. The staff were great, and some locals either weren 't bothered or quite got into the match. However, several were particularly rude, with derogatory comments about women, 'it 's not even rugby ' was heard, and so on. However, this just reflected on those individuals, and no way spoilt our walk interval. Thanks to the staff. It is a lovely pub.

We followed a 5-mile diversion due to a road closure, only to realize that the closure actually began past the pub. We were promptly seated and our orders were taken. I had the chicken wings and salad with peri peri sauce, which was delicious. My wife's pate starter was even better. Both starters were well worth the £5 each. The peri peri sauce was outstanding. My main course, the Steak and kidney pie with vegetables and mash, was excellent and great value for £10. It was full of steak pieces and had a lovely taste. I probably visited on an off day. Here is a list of what went wrong: 1. The restaurant was roped off, and we were initially told we couldn't dine there. There was no seating elsewhere, so they had to open it up for us. 2. We waited a long time for our food. 3. When we asked to change our crushed new potatoes to mashed, we were charged an extra £2, which we found disgusting. 4. The salmon portion was small, and the wilted spinach was not worth it – just one wilted sprig. The chicken was overcooked and dry. It should have been served on a plate with vegetables. 5.
