"Fantastic place with amazing food, drink and staff! We came down to Somerset for the weekend for a wedding and the brides family recommended Wild Rocket for our second night we were not disappointed. The restaurant is clean, modern, spacious and stylish. The food is INCREDIBLE. Every single thing that came from the kitchen looked delicious. The cocktails are also beautiful. Staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your smiling and laughing etc. Was nice to hear the music and chat coming from the kitchen. The chefs deserve a sing song when busy cooking such delicious food. The chefs were very friendly and happy to say hello as well. If you’re in Bridgwater….you must check this stunning restaurant out. The only negative is that it’s about 4/5 hours away from where we live….as we want to come back!! Thank you for a lovely evening! x"

"Don't look at the menu online and choose before you go because you'll be disappointed as some of the dishes are not on the restaurant menu. Having said that. The food was lovely, succulent meat dishes, flavourful veg dishes. Service was great. Atmosphere is a 5 thanks to catching up with family after 6 years. So much laughter. Toilets were very clean and decorated lovely. The slimming world poster on the door made us all laugh. Highly recommend."

"Booked here before looking on trip adviser as fancied Italian and it was close to where our onward appointment was. Before going we looked online for menu and stumbled unintentionally across Trip Advisor and the reviews for Roma. Reading a lot of poor reviews we started to think we could have made an error. WRONG…..never believe all you read. We were greeted at the door with an exceptionally warm welcome and immediately the lady suggested that perhaps the table they had assigned for us was too close to a family/child/pushchair……couldn’t agree more, that would have ruined our experience!..and found us a much quieter table for two. Service (throughout) was fast, efficient and courteous. Complimentary bread and olives a nice touch. The steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta like velvet and soooooo tasty !. Delicious ice cream too ! The only area that needs attention and causes the drop of a star for us is the toilet (singular)..surely one single unisex toilet for a restaurant of what…100/150 covers is not enough, maybe not even legal ?…whilst clean, there was no soap in dispenser which, considering we saw staff using toilet, was a bit of a worry. The room is probably big enough to split and provide two needs some work there guys. We definitely will go back…often I suspect."

"Based on the Bower inn’s website, my husband and I decided to book a table for dinner Sunday at 7:30pm. Based on the description of the pub’s passion for good food, local sourcing of ingredients and menu we we’re looking forward to our dinner. The pub itself also looked welcoming. Unfortunately, when we walked in we had a completely disappointing experience. We were immediately told we had three minutes to order before the kitchen closed even thought on the website the kitchen was open until 8pm, and we were asked for our drink order before we had even sat at our table or had looked at the menu. Things proceeded to go downhill from there. Service was poor. We had to chase staff to get wine or anything else we wanted once our meal was served. Meals came within 5 minutes of ordering and were clearly pre-cooked without much care for quality. Our salad was ice cold and clearly pulled directly from the fridge. A side of broccoli was nearly raw and the veg with the roast looked and tasted re-warmed. While the vegetarian burger was very good, the roast pork was average. We had to chase after staff to order a second round of drinks. All-in-all we were in and out in under an hour having had one of the most disappointing and up relaxing dinners ever when we’d expected to have an enjoyable and relaxing evening. We spoke to the assistant manager about the problems we’d had. She accepted they’d fallen short and took the appropriate action, but still we left feeling dissatisfied, rushed and disappointed. The Bower Inn clearly has potential to provide excellent hospitality, but they obviously need to be honest with customers on kitchen and bar closing times before bookings are accepted and need to then provide a decent level of service and food quality to match what they claim on their website."
