"I have eaten here on and off for a few years now and I sometimes forget why I am not a regular. By writing this review I hope this reminds me and helps others decide on going or returning here. The restaurant is missing something: the decor is cool but the large flank wall on the LHS as you walk in is plain and makes the hall cold. The open kitchen is honest yet some of the waiters are too shy to tell you what’s on your plate. Throw your food down and run off while others tell you which each dish is. The food is just above average and presented well, yet the radio music seems so off and kills any vibe. Overall not worth £230 for two people- such a shame because the place has huge potential."

This restaurant is proof that Japanese and Portuguese cuisines go great together. The food was incredibly delicious and creative. Eating sushi at the counter was an authentic experience. I recommend the tasting menu so you can have a bit of everything.

Another great experience at Yashin Ocean House. We are spoilt to have a quality sushi restaurant in our neighbourhood that maintains high standards, yet manages to feel friendly and local. As a regular, I have my favourites I return to but I would love to see more new dishes as well. There were some specials available but they were mainly tuna/urchin/eel as I recall. I would love to see new vegetarian dishes, salads and carpaccio. Looking forward to my next visit!
