"The food was excellent. The chicken and mushroom mix as a main was the best food I have eaten while travelling through France. It was just unbelievable!Unfortunately, a sour taste was left via the set menu experience which has the option of starter + main or main + dessert (as do many restaurants in Arle). This in itself is fine but we queried it as the cost was 27€ but none of the available combinations (there were limits in place) added up to 27€! Our French speaking companion asked twice to ensure it was correct and was told both times it was, that was just the way it was. Hmmmm. We ordered off the menu instead and experienced excellent meals for less than the set menu price. Disappointing service considering how FABULOUS the food was."

"L 'Autruche is an expression of culinary genius by a younger couple who freshly reinvent their menu each night as much to make it more interesting for themselves, we imagine, as to make it more interesting for their patrons. We arrived on an unbearably hot summer evening, late enough (8:30 pm that other small restaurants were turning us away because they didn 't want to bother with another seating, but the proprietress of Autruche told us she 'd have a table for us in half an hour. We wandered the winding streets of this part of Arles for the requisite time, and were seated soon after our return. My bride started dinner with what the restaurant spelled as gaspacho, I a multicolored tomato salad with mozzarella and basil (they did not misrepresent it as a Caprese ; both of us had the 7 hour provençale lamb for our entrée, spread over a bed of rice, and both found it delicious. We asked for, and were served, an excellent and modestly priced vin de la région. Like everyone else that evening, we enjoyed our dinner at a little table on the street on narrow Rue Dulau; they probably could not fit half the customers they had at tables on the street into their small dining area indoors in colder weather. Were we to spend a longer period in Arles, we would surely return many times."

"A tastefully decorated place where you will not stop being surprised. In the back, he finds a peaceful inner courtyard in an idyllic setting. "During a visit to Arles to view the amphitheater and Van Gogh locations we stopped at L'armoe. L'amore is located just a block from the Tourist Information office at the corner of Avenue Victor Hugo and Boulevard Emile Combes. We order two glasses of white wine, house wine, 2.5 Euros and very good. For lunch we shared the Millefueille de Legumes. Large portion that we shared. The salad was wonderful Eggplant and zucchini sliced length-wise and cooked, but served at room temperature. Sauce was a fresh, light tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Fresh tossed greens with a light vinaigrette dressing and some great radishes. Surprisingly, no bread; which we did not missed. Seating both inside and outside. All of this for only 18,5 Euros! Great service. Pleasant setting and waitstaff. Give it a try."

"Very nice and picturesque place, very good reception on a pedestrian square of the old rims with very pleasant terrace, excellent pizza with a very good paste and basic ingredients (sauce and cheese) of good quality. only flats: the price and size of the pizza, which are not in relation to each other. it remains affordable and a good time"

"We ate the aioli. It was very correct. The service is a little approximate but done with kindness. But the pompom on the Garonne is the person as chef who at one point burst onto the terrace screaming and asking who was looking at the neighbor's plate complaining about the quantity of cauliflower. We thought it was a sketch or a hidden camera. Take a little sedative, sir, it will surely do you good. This inappropriate and unspeakable behavior. If not for this reason I would not recommend this establishment at all."

"Great welcome, romantic tables outside overlooking the historic Baths of Constantine near the Rhone. Not upmarket, not foodie, not trendy just a charming local mediterranean restaurant. The food was delicious, generous and good value. I had a great tuna provencale and my partner had an excellent pizza. The salads are big enough to share as a starter or between 3. Home baked deserts are amazing. Service is attentive and warm. Recommended."

"We grabbed a light dinner there because we were staying in right around the corner, and a former colleague of our dining partners had raved about the pizza. 1. The pizza was fine and edible but i would not seek it out 2. The service was fine, somewhere between Louis XIV and Louis XVI( i know that covers a lot of ground) Conclusion: if you are standing in the little plaza there, dying for a pizza and can’t move, check it out. Otherwise , go elsewhere."

"This is a very nice Creperie with a Terrace located just back from the Arena and with great views. Great for Lunch or Brunch. We had standard two course lunchtime menu (choice of two savoury and Two sweet Crepes) which was good value. Rose wine in a Carafe was acceptable if not the best we have had in Provence but not expensive. My wife's Ham and Egg and my mixed Cheese Crepes were fine if slightly overdone and crisp. Not bad enough to complain. The savoury was either honey or strawberry (strawberry syrup in fact) was again a little overdone but OK if not something to set the Creperie world alight. It is 3 star food but the location means it is 4 star overall. Recommend if want quick snack lunch near Roman Arena and Theatre. Service relaxed but effiicient and friendly."

"It is a rare find in the region, a fully vegan restaurant. It's perfectly located in downtown Arles and has a very nice atmosphere inside and in the garden too. I wasn't sure whether I should order at the counter or if they pick up the orders at the table. Eventually, I ordered at the counter after waiting outside for a while. It is written on the boards that card payment is from 15 EUR, but they let me pay for my coffee (5 EUR) by card."

"RARE! What a happiness... Finally a place with spirit. A chic and simple atmosphere with a cleverly disappointed charm. A staff so connected with the places, funny but never rude, pointed but never pedaling. Refreshing. Really. So yes, it is true, there is no double glazing in some rooms. Yes it is true the place of the Forum on which the hotel has gabled (hihi is very lively. But, if a bit of noise from this vibrant heart of town is the price paid to be able to still admire splendid wood carpentry and glass of angles, all rounded (splendid room 12! , and not of hermetic carpentry in pvc so yes, we will pay. Summum of courtesy: we have breakfast for three francs six under the mythical and popular Tambourin, right next to it, but still installed on the narrow sidewalk bordering the North Pinus, which seems kindly to lend it to it. A joyous melting-pot that this place of the Forum where the Nord Pinus, although probably the most chic establishment, seems to play equal with the surrounding shops, without pretense. Still a big thank you to all those who make this place of resistance to depressing hotel uniformity:"

"I loved this restaurant! the staff is welcoming, has the concern for the quality of its products, and it is seen! I ate a chicken burger that was very good, there was to accompany fries (season!), vegetables and a salad. My boyfriend took a tin of bull that I tasted and that was also good (it was accompanied by the same things as me). I recommend their sangria that has a lot of taste! We also took a tray of charcuterie that is worth the detour but it is better to share if we take a dish afterwards. A restaurant that's worth a visit if you're in arles!"

"We were four happy Arlesiens! It had taken us too long to get around to La Chassagnette it's well out of town but we finally organised for lunch on a glorious sunny day day. Setting, staff, and wines were superb. But the food... we had the five course lunch was just spectacular! Seasonal fruits and vegetables are the stars here, with particular items highlighted at the peak of their quality. Fruit, vegetables and flowers from the restaurant's garden accompanied local tuna, ray and lamb. The restaurant is bio/organic and is also gluten free. (The gluten free bread was the best any of us had ever tasted). We added to the spectacle by indulging in a 2005 Bertagna Nuits Saint Georges Premier Cru, which opened up beautifully after a somewhat cold start. Definitely the essence of the Camargue on five plates! We'll be back for more!"

"Le Vietnam is located near the Northern city gate of Arles, and is opposite a nice bar and delicatessen shop, where you find mostly local patrons. The meals are delicious, and a welcome variation after days of French cuisine. It offers a very nice meal for a very affordable price, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the meals are truly great. Best is to have your meal outside on the terrace (which is improvised on the street, but since there is not much traffic, you're not breathing exhaust gases. It seems to be a nice place for parties or business diners. Although every morning many tourists pass through the mentioned gate, often in groups with a guide, tourists seem to have hardly noticed the existence of this restaurant which is a pitty in one sense, but a blessing in another."

"we went to the restaurant in the middle of the afternoon and kindly asked if it was possible to book for a dinner in the week, not getting there with our phone. We had the impression of disturbing from the outset and made it felt. mr rabanel himself took our reservation by snoring and taking us from very high ; visibly aroused by our few questions about the kitchen served and making us understand that he was was was wasted his time, I quote: "We will not spend two hours to book a table in a bistro!". "winter as summer the terrace is a friendly, warm place. service is a happiness.Whether lional, yohan or eva, and the owners, they are all welcoming, smiling, happy to receive you and serve you, attentive to your requests and if you become a regular like me, in good professionals they have recorded your culinary preferences, the place you like well. of equal mood without ever showing their problems, yet it links a non-stop service from 9am to 10pm. They speak all the languages of Europe, they have the patience to detail the map. The kitchen is of good quality, without pretention, especially since there is a new chef. I recommend, all the salads, fresh and copyy, the aioli, the bull daube, the best scallop ice creams, and cherry on the open cake 7 days a week"

"We dined two nights at the very small (5 tables) La Telline while staying at their hotel, Mas de la Forge (separate review loved it). The menu was the same both nights, and we get the impression that it changes a bit with available fish but otherwise is pretty constant. There are a handful of appetizers, and on the two nights we had the escargots du mer (spiral shell sea snails), the telline (tiny clams, sweet and amazingly good) and a highly priced dish of fish eggs which had been pressed, dried and cut into thin slices undoubtedly a delicacy but not to our taste. They offer meat, and although we didn't have it the steaks looked massive and smelled good. We stuck with fish, which Jean Paul cooks over the fire in the dining room (as he does all the dishes). Be aware that when you order fish it is a whole fish. Because of the style of cooking there's no way to cook a half. So if one person wants fish he/she faces (depending on the sizes of the fish that came in that day) a very large and expensive (priced by weight) meal. Our compromise was in one case to split a fish and in another to have a fish and the eel, which could be done in a smaller portion. The fish was all perfectly cooked, moist and delicious. They leave the scales on the fish to keep moisture in in the cooking and then discard the skin, which is not something I've seen before but the result was great. Desserts are excellent. The riz au lait (rice pudding) was extraordinary, as was the chocolate gateau. Flan was tasty but mild by comparison to the other two. Wine list is good, and Jean Paul happily steers you to a vin du pays from the lower end of the price list, something I always respect. Florence is the bustling heart of the room, taking orders, plating the fish, and generally filling the space with her cheerful conversation and presence. An evening there is warm, comfortable and delicious."

We've been regaled with the seiche-hunting and its ink-blacks, lamb ris and marsala. good cooking, well-stocked seasoning and the generosity of the dish. the petlardon of the cevennes is a moment of pure happiness and it is accompanied by a organic olive oil of muriés that animates your taste buds. We finished with a home flan with regressing hammers to wish. the red wine of the mas de berthe (2014) to very well complete this delicious meal. We warmly recommend this restaurant, away from the tourist traps."

"Highly recommended for a simple country restaurant This is the sort of unpretentious but characterful restaurant serving high quality if simple food you expect but increasingly fail to find as you travel through the back roads of France. We were racing to find one of our favourite if simple restaurants in Salin-de-Giraud for lunch and having taken a turning (mistakenly) we passed this restaurant at Albaron just after 1.30pm and quickly applied the brakes as we saw the many cars parked outside what seemed a deserted rustic restaurant. Inside was a warm bustling restaurant decked out in a rich red decor with simple but comfortable seating. We sat in the small first room whilst there was a much larger room beyond and a more intimate room leading off to the side. Note you have to like watching men being chased by bulls in the streets of France as they had two televisions in our dining room continuously showing this. This is a on a minor road that goes nowhere so you only find it if you know about it. We were the only non French in the packed restaurant. I believe I will be the first non-french to review thee restaurant in TripAdvisor. Our Fish soup was amazing in presentation, flavour and taste. It was wonderfully welcome on a cold overcast February lunchtime. My wife went for a Entrecote Steak as it was available medium cooked, but I went for a deliciously juicy Taureau steak cooked saignant (rare) as they only cook this bull steak bleu (raw) or saignant. Both the Entrecote and the Taureau come from local beef and were delicious. I had a nougat ice-cream dessert which nicely rounded off the meal with coffee. It also serves a wide range of pizzas (its speciality) but if you like a good steak go for it.. The local Cote de Rhone wine was very good especially at 18Euro a bottle. The sole waitress seemed for most of the time to be serving the whole restaurant at amazing speed adding to the animated atmosphere. Simple cuisine in a charming restaurant at a very reasonable price."
