"first! we have set ourselves next to humans, not very covided safe and most employees do not wear masks. when they are, it is not her face or the nase covered. we get table service and the women who served us had the worst. it was that someone could have, they looked like we ruined their day and they didn't want to work. she went around chewing gum and turned around unprofessional and not at all closer. the kind and wise how these women have set off our meals was ridiculous. Not asked who eats it, who it is, was simply whipped on the table and then we had to ask for cutlery after we waited for it! this place feels dirty, the unhygienic toilets do not explain that looked like they were not cleaned in days. no toilet roll, mark in the toilet and the dryer do not work without registration. hot eating was also cold, overall bad experience and will not come back. I'm afraid for my friend who is gluten-free and we're concerned with everything she could have gluten"

"we will not return to this restaurant in the near future. we have eaten here several times in the last month, we were not very impressed, but thought we would give him another chance. we ordered food from the Sparer menu as we usually do. from ordering to eating last minutes! in consideration of the fact that there were only a few people who seemed to eat this an unacceptable time, especially with hungry children to wait. the portion size of the food has certainly decreased. I can't blame that the woman who took our order has passed our comments to her."

"first visit in this pub on recommended as we live in a village on the other side of hull. first impressions, a warm and welcoming mood here. the food came hot, which is great, as many pubs serve only warm. my steak was really nice and cooked, as I asked to cook it, also great. very nice steak also, not full of gristle and fat. overall very good eating to great trips. the drinks are also a good price. the Christmas decorations were up today, and they looked really stylish and tasteful. will definitely return to this pub"

"I have ordered from this restaurant several times in the past, but tonight's experience was the worst. The pizza was delivered an hour late, lukewarm, missing toppings (which were supposed to be standard, not extra), and the dip was also missing. The delivery driver was rude and unhelpful when we asked about the missing dip. I called the restaurant to complain and spoke to a friendly employee who apologized. They spoke to the manager, who said they would remake the pizza with the missing toppings and bring the dip. The manager was unable to speak with us for some reason. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the whole ordeal, but there was no offer to refund the cost of the missing dip, which may only be 49p, but it seems like the right thing to do. Needless to say, we will not be ordering from or recommending this restaurant again. The service was a disaster."

"1st time we had a delivery from here it was cold, Greasy and looked like the delivery driver had sat on the food. The 2nd time it was much better but most of the food was still cold (Cold fries semi warm chicken). 3rd Time I thought I would give it a fair chance and visited the actual Restaurant . This Restaurant use to be a Fish restaurant before being taken over by Chicken George, the problem is the original furniture is still in place (Uncomfortable chairs, tables that are just wooden boxes) also the floor and general appearance of the place is run down and kinda jaded (The serving Area Kitchen all look new). The staff have some issues understanding English but are Friendly. Now to the Food itself: The Chicken tasted good the Fries where hot and tasty but the 3 piece meal was mostly bones and skin, ordered a milk shake and received a flavourless bottle of watery Banana Milkshake. So this was My last visit as this place has nothing on the original Chicken George (The one on Anlaby Road)."

"I have to say the food delivered used to be quite good but sometimes hit and miss. My last order was a so called mixed kebab and I say so called as it was just diced chicken and tons of onion. Worst kebab ever!!! how...you can call that a mixed kebab is beyond me.... One thing I find very strange and let’s the service down Is the fact they have a delivery driver that doesn’t actually deliver and must be the worst delivery person I have ever come across. You receive a call from this particular delivery driver to say that he’s here, so you open the door and he’s not there. Bizarrely he’s sat in his van waiting for you to come out of your house walk down the garden and onto the road side to his van to get your takeaway. Does this every time and it’s not that he’s being over cautious about COVID or anything as previous occasions has been the same well before COVID even existed, so totally bizarre. I have now stopped ordering from Asian kitchen and won’t be using them again."

"We had a fantastic experience at Lucca last night. Celebrated 18 years in their private room upstairs and the food was excellent, especially the steaks. The service was top-notch and the wine selection was impressive. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Hull."

"Absolutely delicious! I've been ordering before when the takeaway was managed by different owners and I wasn't impressed but these new owners know their job and their food is amazing! When I went to collect the food was ready perfectly on time, and we had a chat with the new owners since 3 months ago, who mentioned they have 15 years experience working in Turkish kitchen. And it's obvious! The pizza sauce they put was made by themselves and was very delicious. The kebabs had perfect texture and taste, chips was nice and crispy . Thank you Pizza Peepers for upgrading the taste and quality, I will definitely order again."

"The salad was turning and had a sower smell, the chicken tasted funny and some bits were awful they looked cooked but when you bit into it, it tasted like rubber. The chicken on the pizza was either burned, just bad quality or gristly. Never had a takeaway this poor from here before, very disappointed and won't be ordering again as nearly £30 wasted"

"As a first-time customer, I ordered a mixed grill with nan bread and a Greek salad for takeout. Unfortunately, the mixed grill was lacking in meat and consisted mainly of cold chips with a small amount of sauce and a few pieces of salad wrapped in nan bread. The quality was subpar compared to a good Turkish kebab takeaway. The Greek salad was small and uninspiring, you could find something similar for a lower price at a supermarket. While the food was edible and served in clean containers, the staff were polite. However, if you're looking for authentic homemade Greek food, I would recommend trying elsewhere as it seemed like the shop may be supplied by a franchise with food made off-site. I cannot recommend this restaurant at the prices they are charging as it felt like a massive rip-off."

"This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, there is such a pleasant atmosphere. We found this place looking for other places that make dim sum in the area and we are so glad that we did as our new favorite place has become. The waiter is really friendly and accessible, they are so attentive and so are the owners. They can say they care a lot about their customers and their food. The dimming drum is freshly made on site by an extremely experienced dimming hot chef who is to live from london. It's hands down what I tried. We were hesitant as it is located near the bev road crossing, but there is a large parking lot behind, accessible from the side street on the bev road and there are always many places. No time limit and no parking restrictions. It is such a simple place to get and it is really a beautiful experience. The food is fantastic and the prices are really reasonable. Defines the best place to eat in shell. We come back as often as possible."

"The completely unprofessional and ill tempered staff with the exception of the chef ruined our trip to the gallery. First the poor woman on the till trying to take orders lacked training and was completely out of her depth. There were two waitresses and one had to supervise her all the time so that created more pressure. After a long wait to order in a queue of only 3 we chose a table. It wasn't busy as we were quite early for lunch with around 12 diners were in. I talked to the lady trying to work the till, asked her if she'd had any training working it before customers arrived. She said no, they are in at the deep end. I told her she had my sympathy and as there was a Suggestion Box right in front of me I said I'd make a constructive suggestion re training. But there were no cards to write on. A waitress tore me a scrap of paper to use. Quite quickly a waitress brought my friends meal, which looked very nice and said mine would be a bit later. This was unprofessional as people having lunch together want to eat at the same time. Then the waitress came back again and apologised saying she had brought that meal to the wrong table. Unfortunately my friend had already eaten some as it was getting cold. The waitress said mine would be a longer wait now as they were backed up. A few more people had just arrived. By this time my friend was halfway through her meal and it was obvious we were not going to be eating together and lunch would take much longer than usual. As we only had 2 hours for eating then looking around the gallery I went to the till and told them to cancel my meal. I got a refund, my friend eat half her food and we left. While at the till getting the refund and in front of the queue of around 9 people the older waitress gave an aggressive diatribe about how mistakes happen, they do their best, short staffed, lack of training etc etc etc. She reeled off so many excuses for the abysmal service it sounded well rehearsed. I get it that she is badly trained, short staffed. Management need to deliver what these women need to perform their roles effectively and professionally."

"visited humber Dock with friend for drinks. Booked a table online. We arrived to be told a table had not been booked but thr bouncers found us 1. We were told only 2 people at the bar at one time. We went out 4 a cog came back in and they had given our booked table to someone else. Asked a person stood at the door n he seated us some where he was rude and abrupt. Went to the bar for a drink for him to approach me and say you have to go out side and come bk In and queue for a drink I apologised as we were not told this for him to tell me you knew you had to do that mate but was really rude and told me to get out and queue even though I had been served. He also very abruptly told our partners to sit down. When questioned who he was he said the managers bloke. He was rude abrupt no customer service skills what so ever and just not an inviting person. Then the pub ran out of all cola and lemonade by 8.40pm and there was only bottle of cider and beer. The atmosphere was horrific due to the managers bloke walking round with misserable face and talking to guests like ****. We will NOT return to this pub and have told many people about our experience. 0 star rating"

"I was actually looking for the chocolate string sticks, but didn't get them but purchased a gluten free salted caramel chocolate brownie and a gluten free cheesecake.. Oh boy! Totally amazing! I did not read any reviews before purchasing, but so pleased I treated myself. Just enough of a slight crispness on top to beautiful soft gooey middle. The cheesecake was popped into a lovely box to carry home safe. Thank you so much for your passion. I will be back soonest for more gluten free treats."

"During our stay at a local hotel, my partner and I were thrilled to stumble upon this delightful smoothie shop. We were drawn in by their protein shakes, which we found to be absolutely delicious. "Very nice place to spend a couple of hours. Exterior (front) seating and nicely presented. I believe there could be a beer garden to the rear. The interior is nicely furnished and decorated. Plenty of seating and table settings. Very large place. Attentive staff. Nice customers. Lovely latte. The food is outstanding. We've never had a poor offering. I usually go for the small plates option and purchase 3 different ones olives with warm bread and a butter, Panko halloumi with a salad garnish and chilli dip and creamy garlic mushrooms (to die for). All are delicious. Food is beautifully presented and efficiently served. Clean place and decent toilet facilities. Definitely worth paying a visit to Garbutts if you're stuck for somewhere to eat or drink."

"If you’ve got kids swan and cygnet is not the place to go. Me my sister in law, mother in law, my son (age 1), daughter and niece (both age 3) booked a table at 4:45 so bare in mind a respectable family hour for...a “family pub” Ten minutes after sat down a lady came and shushed my son I didn’t think anything of it I thought she was just joking and communicating with him as he was making noises as a one year old does. Very happy and chatty noises. Ten minutes goes by and another young girl this time came over and said could you ask the children to be quiet please.. My answer was he’s one years old you can’t just make them be quiet so she apologised and said it’s fine don’t worry. Another ten minutes goes by and the older lady comes back over and says “I’m sorry but you need to make them be quiet” So my daughter and neice were sat giggling and chatting they wasn’t misbehaving and certainly wasn’t be disruptive to any other tables in the “family pub”. They remained at the table and wasn’t running around. Our food came and the beef was literally still mooing.. I understand some people like it like that but they never even asked a preference on how we’d like it cooking. My mother in laws was inedible and mine wasn’t much better! We told the staff as they cleared the table how we couldn’t eat the meat but they wasn’t bothered in the slightest. We asked for the bill left the money and went to leave. As we left we told the staff how they made us feel and they continued to make out how bad our children were when in reality just because they wasn’t sat at the table with iPads and ear phones on like most children in there they didn’t like it! All three children are very happy children and I strongly disagree with how we have been treat. We come in regular, recommend it to family and friends and even supported them a lot throughout covid buying food to take away! If Covid was to teach businesses anything it should be to appreciate and respect their customers. Especially the regular ones. Myself and my family will not be returning and I will not be recommending them again. Very disappointed and angry with how we have just been treat."

"I have had a number of pleasant and relaxing visits to Lydia's Cake away. It has been amazing each visit, with a streamlined menu to meet a number of differing, customers requirements . In addition, Lydia, the owner is welcoming, smiling and extremely friendly. Nothing is to much trouble, the food, nibbles, cakes and drinks are beautiful, at tasty competative prices. Morover, her delights are homemade, her baking is exquisite, that's for sure, and presentation makes for a great experience with bespoke China pottery. This little cafe is a popular meeting place for many, hosting varied events for different occasions, such as a recent Harry Potter themed events, and can be booked for even clubs and get togethers . There are plenty of options including, varied dietery and allergy requirements that are and can be catered for, not to mention veggie based products. Furthermore, it is relaxing, watching the world go bye through the oanaramic window, overlooking Newland Avenue. The foods you will find and to be reccomended through experience are bagels, with cream cheese and strawberries, cheese and Tomato toasties with salad and tortilla chips. Finally, Earl Grey tea in China cups, topped off with a slice of cake, for me it was lime cake, to comiment the savoury course. Great coffee shop, pleasant owner and staff, bespoke surroundings, relaxing and has a 5 on the door, not surprised, its lovely and clean, a little hidden gem. The cafe and owner welcomes changing for people who would like to bring their babies, children, toddlers to a warm and embracing envoiroment . A must for all, Lydia has put her heart and sole into this cafe, and it shows, I could sit their all day and often do and she always remembers conversations had to follow up when you return, impressive ! Give this local place and Lydia and team your support!!!!!"

"Christmas meal with work colleagues, last year booked from the Christmas menu and it was wonderful, this year not. Soup was delicious but it went downhill from here. Belly pork had a weird texture that was not pleasant, stated with crackling but was poor quality pork scratching on the side, vegetables no flavour. Dessert rice pudding had no flavour apart from a spice that was sitting on the top. Friend had sea bass with a port sauce that overpowered the fish. This chef does not understand flavours that’s for sure, there was no depth of flavour to any of the dishes. After a disappointing overcooked omlette there recently, it’s not somewhere I’ll be spending my hard earned cash at again, too many good places to eat. Shame because the place has a nice ambience about it."
