"We have been going to Bird in the Barley for over 10 years and always have a good meal, however on this occasion it was terrible. My husband had fish and chips and had to return it because the chips were terrible. The fish was burnt also but when it came back out it wasn't much better. My chips were also bad. I have noticed recently how bad the chips are, they look like they haven't been peeled and cooked in old oil. We have decided to give this pub a wide berth for the time being. we complained when paying our bill and regret not asking for a reduction as non was forth coming."

Attended a freinds 60 th. Food great , atmosphere too. Staff warm and freindly ,catered for 30 plus . Nothing too much trouble. Very nice indeed. No complaints .10/10.

Disappointing meal, do not like the new chips have been going here for years and not sure what has gone wrong the food is over priced for what is on offer staff look like they would rather be elsewhere

First ever visit to The Bird in the Barley today. Had the beef and Yorkshire pudding off the Sunday menu plus deserts. The food was excellent and lots of it. Pleasant staff, nice atmosphere and very clean tables. Speisekarte ansehen

Great little spot for dinner with a few pals. Fish and chips to die for, not sure what the complaints about the chips are for? Puddings made by a young lad, Tom I believe. Delicious. Keep it up ladies and gents :

Staff extremely rude on multiple occasions and made us feel bad for not ordering starters and deserts?! Some of the food was not very appetising and the portions are small. The whole place could do with a good clean and a lick of paint. Wouldn’t be returning.

Had a lovely meal to celebrate Father's day. Chef was very accommodating due to my onion allergy and prepared me a delicious chicken dinner with a mushroom sauce,it was divine. My compliments to the chef! Always have great meals here, staff are always friendly, highly recommend. Speisekarte ansehen

60th Birthday meal for 26 of us in conservatory, service excellent, food all delivered together, piping hot,everyone enjoyed meals, great staff extremely helpful massive thanks to suzzane and Glenda for their excellent service,great local pub with good value home cooked food... After my previous bad review I was offered a voucher to try a return visit. I wish to confirm that the meals are back up to scratch. We went with friends and all had a very enjoyable meal, however we still debated the state of the chips. I wish to thank the owner for his response to my previous review, and we will be back and recommend this restaurant for a good value menu.
