We had a family do here and it was amazing ! The staff were fantastic , food and drink great ! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone

Went to the Mamma Mia night hosted at the Church Restaurant and what an amazing place to eat, drink and socialise! The rooms are beautiful and were decorated in a Greek taverna theme! All the waiting staff were attentive and courteous from start to finish. The food was absolutely outstanding and clean plates all round! The whole event was well planned and executed! The entertainment ‘Abba re-Bjorn’ just made the night even better! We will definitely return to this well run and thoroughly lovely restaurant! Thanks for a fab night!! Speisekarte ansehen

Cold soup no bread roll. Pork tepid, sent back got replacement still tepid large fat around had two actual mouthfuls of food , needed a hacksaw for crackling. Supposed to be a black tie event, let in people in jeans trainers and canvas shoes open neck shirts. Not as advertised. Dj played club Ibiza stuff most of time lots of guests fed up. Best thing was the staff who were helpful and nice. Let down by poor quality food and dj didn’t recognise the audience was over 18 The venue was nice but cold ! Best bit Prosecco at midnight Not worth £85 per head Will never return, disappointed!!!

The only good thing about the food was that there WASN 'T a lot of it. It was inedible. Did the chef turn up? The pork tenderloin was so tough, and I 'm talking day old leather left out in the sun. The duck was string. The chicken dry and overcooked. The portions were very small with pointless foods on the plate (one slither of carrot, a blob of something green etc). The desserts were equally awful. I had the chocolate tart, and that was so cold and hard I thought it was still frozen. The baked apple had no apple. If I could give this more stars I would, I had my wedding here and it was AMAZING (as every wedding should be) the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect Special mention to the lovely Izzy (hope I spelt it right) who not only worked hard doing her normal work but also kept the kids entertained and they absolutely adored her Also a massive thanks to Jodie who made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there and overseeing the whole day making sure all my dreams came true And Shannon who put up with my bridezilla moments over menu changes and helped arrange everything The food was amazing too so glad we did change the menu lol Ag... Paid for a valentines meal for two which included an alcoholic drink on arrival. Being pregnant (and not that you need a reason to not drink alcohol), I asked what the alternative was. I was told by the two teenagers who greeted us that there was no alternative unless I wanted a glass of water. We went to the bar and I asked the barman, he said the same but could see how that was pretty unfair and said he would get me a soft drink if I was discreet about it. WTF?! Meal was postponed for over 30 minutes because two bookings were apparently late. The food did not replicate the set meal we paid for. I understand the church has recently either changed management or ownership again and is now an event venue rather than restaurant and if the rest of the events are anything like this we will be there! My partner and I found the service a complete shock after our last visit. We were greeted at the door by a lovely young lady whose name I missed unfortunately. Our waitress was Molly and she was great, nothing was ever too much fuss and perfectly balanced being attentive without being intrusive. The food however stole the show. We went to the murder mystery evening. The food was trying to hard to be posh and pretentious aka small portions! Expensive for very little and not great quality either. The wild mushroom soup was nice but I couldn’t have told you what flavor it was supposed to be, rather than serving it with a bread roll it was served with lentils and a twist of carrot! The main a lot of us had was shin of beef cottage pie, you know when the best thing on the plate are the roasted carrots that something is wrong! There were 3 quinnels of crusted dried up potato with a slab of fatty gross shin of beef. When we complained that the meat was tough fatty and horrible the chef said well it is shin of beef!
