Club House 1896 - Speisekarte

Went with family for Sunday lunch. Welcomed and shown to our reserved table. The waitress was very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Sunday lunch for 9 people. All came away happy. 5 of the party had the slow roast beef and declared it the best they had ever had. Overall, the food was delicious, staff friendly, and we had a lovely relaxed lunch.

I have never written a review before for anywhere but decided that after an amazing roast dinner here yesterday they deserved it, staff where very friendly and helpful,a very short wait for our meal . will definitely recommend and be back Speisekarte ansehen

Thoroughly enjoyed a substantial lunch well prepared and presented in a spotless restaurant overlooking the golf course. Not the most expansive menu but doubtless focusing on snacks and full meals that are popular with the regulars. The overall service and value was first class.

We had a fabulous lunch today at this restaurant! The sea bass was delicious, and the roast dinners were amazing - the lamb was tender and the belly pork melted in your mouth. The fresh veggies and cauliflower cheese were also excellent. The meal was great value for the quality, and we will definitely return to try the desserts next time!

Fantastic food and service.Went for Sunday lunch with visiting friends and the roasts we had were amazing and plenty of it.Meat,potatoes and veg all cooked to perfection-our friends and us all commented on how good it was and a great price too.We were looking out on to the golf course and lovely views.It’s not our first visit and certainly won’t be the last-superb. Not Met on arrival and given this is a golf club we were just stared at. No atmosphere. Slow service which seemed a chore. Roast dinner was average at best, the chicken rubbery, and a small portion for a child was charged at full price! Had been told good things but sadly it was a total disappointment. The restaurant itself is just an open clubhouse bar which reminded me of a classroom. Would NOT return. Living off a historic reputation.

My husband and I went for a first visit for lunch today but were sent on our way. Despite the lack of signs etc, it turned out the restaurant was closed to the public due to a golfing event. The whole atmosphere was stuffy and unwelcoming. Nobody greeted us to tell us so we sat down outside with menus. Eventually a waiter arrived and told us curtly the restaurant was closed to the public, he took our menus away and pretty much sent us out. The same result could have been achieved in a much nicer way and clear signage outside would have prevented embarrassment. I did check the website and there were times available to book the restaurant so I had no idea it was closed. A friendly apology with...

We have always enjoyed having lunch here, with great views, and tables outside in the summer. Our favourites have been the club sandwich and the fish sandwich usually excellent quaility, perfectly cooked and generously filled, making them great value. However we had a couple of visits where the quality was not as good, the sandwiches were clumsily put together and the chicken was dry, or there was too much, or over cooked batter on the fish. We put this down to junior staff being in charge when the main chef was away, and we still kept coming, hoping. So we visited again and tried the new menu.
