"We booked a reservation 4 weeks in advance of our dinner. Good thing. Not a seat to be had for ‘walk up’s’. Taxis and limos drove up upon the 8:30pm opening. Every seat was full by 9pm. Contenedor is located in an out of the way neighborhood going through a lot of upgrades. Inside the restaurant is filled with vibrant modern art. The place is lively and full of conversation. The restaurant web site for Contenedor says: “slow eating”. I get that now because the kitchen gets so backed up you only get a plate of tapis food every 25 or 30 minutes. Lots of time for lively conversation. Our first tapis plate was a mixed platter of 3 cheeses and pate. All good, although we could not finish the large portion of pate. The toasted bread and red condiment were both a tasty addition. After the first platter we were on to a second bottle of wine and second bottle of water. Second course was a mix of vegetables with an egg on top. (See photo). We changed to humus on top. It was among our favorite dishes. Third up was confit chicken with rice and a mustard sauce. Very tasty. The waitress was very high on the Mormo tuna. Which featured slices of fresh tuna over a bed of vegetables. The photo shows the cross hatch design of yellow sauce. Very flavourful and fresh. We ended with 250 grams of sliced steak. It came with baby potatoes and a few greens. We probably could of and should of passed on this plate, because the men in the group struggled to eat all the remaining food. Close to 3 hours of dining. Great experience. Highly recommend it. 5 stars."
