"A fabulous find! We made our reservation prior to our week in Alhaurin El Grande as the restaurant was highly recommended by friends who live locally. We booked for the night before we flew home to the UK and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful, we were greeted by Kairi one of the owners on arrival and shown to our table and we were offered drinks whilst we settled in. The menu is fabulous, traditional dishes mixed with more contemporary offerings however once we had read through 5 out of the 6 of us went for the same! French onion soup (Gratinated onion soup), some garlic snails to share, followed by the Tournedos “El Postillón”, a stunning cut of beef fillet topped with Foie Gras, shaved black truffle and a port wine sauce. Unquestionably the best fillet steak I have had for some time. To end the meal we ordered 3 creme brulees to fight over between us! Hopefully we will be visiting Alhaurin El Grande again soon, when we do we will be sure to book an evening at Fonda El Postillon again."

"We took our friends here for the first time after eating here the previous summer. The seating was indoors this time as opposed to the beautiful outdoor courtyard we enjoyed in the summer. This certainly didn’t lessen the experience and the internal atmosphere was excellent. Staff were again brilliant and even when Mrs L had chosen the wrong wine by mistake and it was almost uncorked they said ‘no problem’ and allowed us to change our mind at no charge. Food was superb plenty of choice from the menu and standards were extremely high as much as to say our guest said this place was the best place he had ever eaten. This is a fabulous restaurant and I’d say above your usual holiday meal. It is not cheap at around 75 euro including tip pp BUT well worth it. If we had eaten this standard of meal in say the algarve ie 3 courses bottles x 2 wine brandy and special coffees it would have e been at least another 40% more expensive. If you are within a hour from this place whilst on holiday in Mijas please give it a try"

"What an amazing meal we had in this beautiful restaurant. The staff were friendly and the setting traditionally Spanish. We chose tapas and ordered 8 dishes between 3 which was a good amount, and none of the dishes were a disappointment. Definitely worth a visit."

"Restaurante especializado en comida sudafricana, ubicado en un precioso entorno, a los pies del castillo de la Mota, que cuenta con salón interior muy luminoso, una terraza con preciosas vistas y parking para los clientes. Su carta no es muy amplia, pero es variada, ofreciéndonos solo los domingos un plato especial: el Asado del domingo. La clientela es fundamentalmente de habla inglesa; de hecho, durante nuestra visita éramos los únicos españoles. La atención, buena. Nos decidimos por el potje de ternera, guiso tradicional sudafricano en olla de hierro fundido, y pollo salteado. Con un refresco y una cerveza, la cuenta fue de 30,50 € para dos personas. En general, muy bien, el sitio es muy bonito y las vistas fantásticas, y en cuanto a la comida, buena, aunque sin llegar a entusiasmar. Vale la pena hacerle una visita."
