"I was lucky enough to visit The Feathers in December 2016 for the wedding of some of our dearest friends. It was foggy and cold which all added to the cosiness and charm of the place. The pub has two rooms with wood burning fires in each, the bar is in between and accessible from both. Inside it's cosy and traditional. This place has been here for centuries and the history seeps out of the walls. The four cask ales are mostly local. There were a couple of Mordue beers on when we were here Workie Ticket being a favourite and a couple from a bit further away, all nice. The star of the place is the food however. As this was a wedding reception the food was delivered in tasting bowls (there wasn't enough space to seat everyone for a traditional meal) one course at a time. So much great food! A winter salad with poached pear, caramelised walnut and blue cheese was a revelation. The mussels excellent and the rarebit appetiser so perfectly done. The mains were wonderful too. Winter veg mash with huge hunks of beef in rich gravy, aromatic and moist kedigree, spelt risotto and a unique game sauerkraut with bockwurst. Then came the desserts! Local creme brulee (Burnt Northumberian Cream on the menu) was stunning, as was the sponge, the mince pie inspired tart and the mountain of cheese. If you're a foodie you'll love this place. Just try and get a reservation first!"

Fantastic fire kitchen and out door bar, shame it’s the last of the season.

Always great food, I've eaten here for about 15 years a few times a year as a treat, never disappointed.

We treated ourselves to the three-course takeaway last night and it was totally delicious!! A real treat and very good value for food of such quality. Totally recommend. The perfect way to cheer yourself up and remind you of what restaurant food is all about, while we can't visit!

Spent many a special evening at this fantastic pub that we’re lucky enough to have on our doorstep. Wasn’t sure a takeaway would be quite the same for my lockdown birthday but it really didn’t disappoint! Thank you so much for a wonderful meal that really made my day special everything we had was as delicious as we’d come to expect.

Exceptionally fine, traditional pub with delicious food and well kept ales. There are two bars with the larger one used mainly for dining. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the ambiance is cosy with real fires and is blissfully music-free. All the food is sourced locally, as are the cask ales. All the awards are well deserved and testament to a well run hostelry. A real gem.

Today Emma and I enjoyed a meal box from the Feathers. Ordered a couple of days before hand I collected, took home served our Northumberland charcuterie, braised beef and mash and apple tart 3 courses meal. These times have seen so many businesses struggling. I’m so pleased the likes of the Feathers has turned such difficulties into huge positives by offering customers something a little bit unique. I wholeheartedly suggest everybody gives this an opportunity to thrive by trying their menu.
