Great meal and very friendly staff. We all had the steaks and they were amazing Al cooked perfectly for the four of us after a long day on our motorbikes. Staff wee very attentive and knowledgable about the ales on offer. Thanks again.

We had Sunday lunch and as it was December a traditional Christmas dinner was on the menu. We all chose the Turkey. It was perfect that was followed by pudding. This was also tremendous. I highly recommend the General Havelock Inn for Sunday lunch. Speisekarte ansehen

It’s the best we’ve ever been to in a lot of years , the food was better than amazing , atmosphere was great and very friendly staff who went out of their way to assist with putting a ramp down for wheelchair and all table service, first class service from arriving to leaving .

On arriving at the General Havelock we were greeted by the very friendly team, they couldn't do enough to help. They helped with wheelchair access by putting the ramp outside. We ordered a Sunday lunch the beef was very tender with loads of delicious Vegetables. Hats off to the chef the quality of food was excellent. I would certainly recommend the General Havelock its a hidden gem.

The pub is ever accommodating, with superb freshly baked and cooked food. The bread is freshly baked. The chips are proper chips. The pies are exceptional, created by experienced and talented chefs. The welcome, no matter how late we are, leads to a seat by the fire, several pints and wonderful food. The team behind the bar are always sincere and welcoming. We just keep on coming back. Friendly staff but despite the restaurant being almost empty we found it hard to get a table and had to wait for an hour and a half. Pre-booking is advised. Once we were in though, despite very slow service, the food was pretty good, if a little over salted. Only options for vegetarians though are goats' cheese frittata or a plate of asparagus and mash. More choice in 2023 would have been appreciated! Good wine. Reasonably priced.

I would love to leave a good review but unfortunately I can’t. Today was the second time we have visited to have a meal and the second time we have had nothing to eat. We travelled from North Tyneside. The first time the chef was ill and there was no food available. We tried again today and although it was pretty obvious we were waiting to be served at the bar, the girl behind the bar completely ignored us and instead continued to serve the ‘locals’. We left and will not return.

Had a family celebratory lunch for a 90th birthday. There were 21 of us and we were given the restaurant at the back for our exclusive use. Jo was very attentive and helpful right from the planning stage (we pre-ordered) to the actual day. The team were brilliant and it all made it a very special experience for my father. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the chef and the kitchen team the food was lovely: a delicious chicken and leek pie, sea bass with mussels and samphire, and a tasty tagliatelle. The starters were also very good. All in all a lovely meal with great service in a great location overlooking the river. Perfect for our family celebration. Thanks again to all involved: kit...
