well I visited here on a sunny may evening with my brother and friend, we sat on the decking in the car park in the glorious sun. there were wonderful hilly views in front of me and very close hills with horses in behind me.

Just popped into the bar atthe end of the afternoon for a quiet drink and a wind down with the wife. The welcome, the atmosphere and the service were great. Thank you to Abby, Gwen, Alisha, Briony and Mike for your attention this afternoon. See you all again, very soon. Speisekarte ansehen

Knowing that the restaurant is now owned or operated by the same individuals who run the nearby Beehive in Hadfield (and supposedly the Buxton Inn in Hyde) and specialize in Thai cuisine, we decided to revisit the Hare and Hounds, as we hadn't been there since the ownership change.

Very disappointed with the food after being recommended to eat here. 3 of us had pie and 3 had fish and chips. Wish I'd had the pie as looked nice. My fish itself was ok but the batter was thick and inedible and very greasy. Chips were greasy and loads of black bits that should definitely not be served.

First visit here and we were very impressed. We felt there was plenty of choice and not your usual 'pub grub ' but much more interesting. We had salt and pepper pork ribs and garlic chicken strips for starters and the garlic mushroom burger and the black and blue pie for main. Awesome, we will be back soon. Speisekarte ansehen

Called here with friends . We had a lovely meal our friends were well impressed . The staff were friendly and welcoming . Dan the land lord couldn't do enough . He was busy but still managed to have a quick chat . We definitely recommend this small country pub the food was excellent . Well worth a visit . We'll done to all .

After a walk, my friends and I were in need of a snack and came across this hidden gem online. The food was delicious, fresh, and served hot, with a menu catered to all dietary needs and flavor preferences. I couldn't decide on just one item, so I opted for a variety of nibble plates - all of which were amazing, especially the bang bang cauliflower! The staff was friendly, and the views overlooking the hills added to the sunny day. The prices were reasonable, and there is even a play area for children, making it a great spot for the whole family to enjoy.

The food here is much improved here of late and the pub is always pleasant. A couple of things would make it much better though. First off all, sort the chairs out. Everyone of them is knackered. The upholstery has collapsed and you fall in a hole as soon as you sit down. They are so uncomfortable that you just don’t want to sit in them and eat. Second thing, love the cheese and onion pie, but what on earth is that cheesy water sauce nonsense served with it ? I’ve had the dish three times now and it’s been the same. It’s as thin as water and split. Try dipping a chip in it chef, it comes out covered in split bits and wet and soggy. Every time. Try pouring it on the pie and your plate is swim...
