We had dinner in La Gauloise in our last night in Nice. We had found it from Tripadvisor, reviews said the restaurant is very local and authentic and it was true. Staffs there can only speak very little English and they have no English menu which seems very local, the waiter who serve us was so friendly and very patient to explain to us what the dishes were by using his body language. Other customers seems are local people who come here regularly. The food are superb, very fresh and the size is too generous. We initially went to la route du miam for diner but sadly discovered that the place was fully booked. Luckily the owner kindly recommend us to la Gauloise and in her words this restaurant has the most " clean taste and correct technique " of French cuisine. The food is very reasonably priced. The owner very patiently explained the menu to us in English. ( yes, there's no English menu and almost every guests there were locals expected us, which is a really good sign in my opinion) I ordered the chef's recommendation a white fish with sausage meat on top.
