La Rotonde - Speisekarte

We were there twice during a one week Holiday in the Hotel Negresco. It was spacious and not crowded. We liked the cocktails.... it was always a very long evening ;-)

Great location and service. Only drawback was the noise when sitting outside. The traffic passing by was very loud which took the edge off the evening , otherwise well worth a visit.

This venue is over priced and very average. The waiter did not want us to sit at a table for 4 (just 2 of us), in case he got 4 come in, so suggested we sit on a bench under the speakers. The did not know what a Kir Royale was. To pay £25 for 2 drinks in such a average atmosphere was ridiculous. Speisekarte ansehen

The bar is roomy with lots of wood and ample space between tables and seats. It is a nice alternative for lunch and of course drinks if you are staying at Negresco or are accompanied by someone who is a guest of the hotel. The drinks and service were good and fast. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The drinks menu is extensive, so just as well I had the time and means for a robust sampling. The cocktails are made with precision and beautifully presented in the traditional manner. The bar itself provides a quiet oasis from the constant humdrum of the promenade, so a great place to purchase some solitude and reflect on the timeless quality of the martini.

My daughter and I were recommended to go to this Hotel to have a cocktail and see the Art display in the Lobby. On our last night in Nice we decided to give the outside bar a try. We were not disappointed! Our cocktails were outstanding, really outstanding. The service was excellent and the ambiance was so lovely and relaxing. From my other report on Le Negrsco hotel, you will see that we were delighted with the 3 nights stay but the bar was somewhat OK , not a wow experience. The hotel alcohol prices are very very expensive. A small beer was well even for a 5 star hotel very expensive. The service failed to impress when we wanted to leave and sign for our drinks we waited 15 minutes then walked to the bar and asked again for the bill. This should not happen and the hotel need to reflect on my comments.

We celebrated the arrival of our son on our Riviera holiday by having a drink in the seafront hotel Le Negresco just down the road from where about 100 revellers were killed by a terrorist on Bastille Day 2016.We had a chocolate viennoise ie with cream, a standard café au lait and some wine for €44.This is not cheap, obviously, but worth it for the ambiance and the interestingly decorated hotel lobby. The bar itself has wood panelling and was apparently intended to invoke an English theme.

An enforced change of plan gave us the idea to visit this stunning hotel. I don't think it is unfair to say it is THE hotel of Nice. Perhaps not the most modern, perhaps not the most easy on the pocket but for tradition, service , wow factor it delivers in spades. We only visited for drinks & prices are certainly high (15 euros for a glass of wine, 11 euros a small beer, cocktails 20 euros +++) but for a belated anniversary treat we thought why not?. The bar is very English in appearance, elegant with lots of wood panelling & comfortable seating.
