Excellent choice for Seafood focused Italian food. The restaurant is quaint and the staff is knowledgeable and caring. They made you feel like family.

During our weekend trip to Edinburgh, we had the pleasure of dining at one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in the city. As food enthusiasts, we felt right at home and can't wait to visit again soon.

What a great meal we had here. Grilled fish platter, soft and savory ravioli and such good wine. We had the pistachio pudding and a new Italian dessert wine. Definitely 5 stars! The staff and environment added to a very nice night out. Speisekarte ansehen

Sweet langoustines, succulent prawns, perfectly cooked fish. The restaurant was full, from what we could hear, of mostly returning diners. I can understand why the repeat business. Great hospitality and wonderful food. Highly recommended.

Great food, staff and atmosphere in this fantastic restaurant. This is the first time I’ve been there and will definitely recommend as well as go back. We all had a wonderful frittata with mushrooms and truffle oil, all of us loved it. 2 of us had the fish platter , with the others having wonderful pasta dishes with the house wine which was excellent quality.

Had a meal here on Saturday and was one of the best (if not the best) meals I have had in a long time. The food was so fresh and full of flavour. Very well presented, and service was perfect and staff are very friendly and welcomin. Nice time between starters and mains also. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food. This was my first visit to this restaurant after previous attempts to book were unsuccessful. I suggest booking well in advance as it is well worth the wait. I have already booked to return. The service was great and there was warmth from all the front of house staff, with a special mention to Laura. The food was absolutely delicious. I shared a Frittata and Caprese to start. It was a tough decision to choose mains, but for maximum enjoyment, I had the grilled fish platter and the sautéed seafood platter, both for one. Both dishes were delicious. The grilled fillets of fish were as good as anything I can recall anywhere. The wine list was good, with the Greco di Tufo being excellent. Overall...

We had a fantastic experience at Locanda De Gusti. It could potentially be one of my favorite Italian restaurants, and when we visit Edinburgh again, we will definitely be returning. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived until the end of our meal. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, always making sure our wine and water glasses were refilled. We started with some delicious cocktails and were treated to a tasty amuse bouche of panzanella. Our starters of ravioli and a cheesy asparagus sandwich were both satisfying and flavorful. Since my last review, I 'vehad another series of stratospheric meals at the Locanda. Last time we went for the classic pasta with genovese sauce, one of the most intense flavour experiences you can imagine, with the deep sweetness from the onion caramelization and umami from the meat; and a new entry, pasta with a cream of peas, superbly fresh and light and Summery, with just the right amount of spicy heat to add a dimension. And for main, another super-classic, the mare nel piatto , full of delights from the sea, and welcome pieces of toasted bread to soak up all the goodness that remains in the soup.
