so good to find such a fabulous place to eat in edinburgh that gives a warm welcome for dogs. very spacious and chilled with a beautiful log fire, and many logs for him! menu extensive and varied, good for children, adult, vegetarian and meat lovers. eating was nice and a lot of it. good value for money. will definitely visit again.

Pretty cool vibe, with an industrial-chic look and food that's good but nothing to rave about, though the service was really friendly. Had some interesting and tasty quinoa fritters then an okay pulled pork roll with a side of very cheesy macaroni cheese. Person I was eating with (and paying) had a pretty big Caesar salad with nice-looking charred chicken and a side of quite tasty chips. It's maybe more about the drinks though, and I think it would be a cool place to share a pitcher of beer or cocktails, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night when they have a DJ. My Flatmate ate here the other night and se said it was amazing so I decided to try it today! She was right! Went for an early dinner at half 5 so it was pretty quiet but was picking up by the time we left. The place is huge with plenty of tables and a coal fire going at one end of the restaurant which suits all the smokes food perfectly! I had a smoked banana daiquiri which was so nice! I forgot how much I loved this place! I went back for eating with friends when it opened and it was really great. If you see the food last night out of the way, it seems that the standards did not slip out. my friends and I went last night a few drinks. the personal was really friendly and despite the fact that it was busy, found a table for us. Part of the Fuller Thompson chain this pub is slightly different to the other ones in the group. Focusing more on slow cooked meats, this pub was on my list of places I wanted to try. In a warehouse-type setting the place feels airy but not cold. We took a table by a window and were greeted by a waitress who gave us menus. We poured over the menus and there was lots to choose from, from light bites to more substantial (and more expensive) steaks. I love this place!! It ticks every box.The service is exceptional. I've been in twice now and the staff are superb. Well done Ox184 on hiring some of the most friendly, helpful, professional staff there is (and especially during the festival when most Edinburgh people are rather grumpy). The food is delicious. Time to cast ourselves back. That is, I must confess that s.o. and I made this visit some time ago. But life gets in the way, and blog posts are put on hold. I love this place. For multiple reasons actually. (1 Kitchen is open till 3am (2 Complete casual dining (3 I love the industrial vibe (ie. the caged shelves, Edison bulbs, concrete flooring, raw plaster, exposed pipes.... (4 Always a great selection of ales on tap (that changes frequently (5 Food is great and....in smaller portions. As it 's a food review, I 'm going to skip talking about numbers 1-4. But number 5?
