"Through the onslaught of the eat out to help out mentalness that results in restaurants being jammed full Mon Weds, these staff cope admirably. It happens I came camping to Birchingham Monday to Friday, so did pre book, and the food and ambience was very good so I booked a table for the next 2 nights. It is appreciated on these busy nights if you arrive on time and don 't spin it out too much needed but somehow the staff keep everything moving along nicely here without anyone feeling rushed. Night 1 I had 3 starters prawn and chorizo kebab, salad, and basket of bread with olives and sundried tomato. The food was perfect and also the house Merlot is good. Night 2, 'I had the sea bass with vegetables. A good sized portion and a varied selection of potato and veg. Sugar snap peas and green beans both! And other veg. A good sized tender tasty sea bass. For dessert, the Eton mess was a delight, creamy, light and moussey with a tasteful selection of fresh sweet berries. With a glass of Pinot Grigot, a perfect meal. Night 3,:had the chicken pitta and chips. Generous portion of chicken and good chips. This went nicely with the tomato and chilli sauce which I requested. One suggestion is, I think this could come automatically with this dish. It is a natural partner. Selection of ice cream was perfect to finish. The pub restaurant is very Covid aware, with staff all in masks and carefully cleaning all the tables after every group. This is very reassuring. With this in mind please expect to book ahead Mon Weds, and be patient with the staff. They will do their utmost to fit you in. If there isn 't room, there really isn 't please don 't challenge this. I witnessed some impatient behaviour around someone having to wait for a table eatlier, it was kind of embarrassing. As a single diner I felt very comfortable. I think it would be a lovely place to stay.I 've really enjoyed eating here and will return next time I 'm in the area."

This pub has gone over and beyond to look after the local community. We have had take away meals delivered, where the food was exceptional and a brilliant delivery service.

Arrived here for a small get together the Wednesday before Xmas, they had suffered power cuts during the morning which had delayed them finishing Xmas dinner for a large group, but the quickly set up another space for us.The welcome was warm and friendly.Long live the village pub.

Visited just after COVID 19 lockdown was eased, so very cautious. However, The Railway has everything down to a tee. Every letter of the rules have been followed and we felt reassured. Excellent, very friendly service. All food in our party was very good as a coeliac it was nice to have options. There isn't a separate menu but the chef will mark off which dishes are (or can be altered) gluten free.

Food was good, pizza especially (according to my teen) and banana waffle deserts are amazing. Our experience was spoiled though by a very loud, rude and obnoxious family on the next table, shame. Staff all VERY friendly though, polite, helpful and efficient.Outside area (that you currently leave the pub by) needs some serious love too, as a dumping ground for pretty much anything, including a cement mixer????

We had the most amazing afternoon here for my sister in laws baby shower. The afternoon tea was outstanding, the selection of sandwiches and deserts was far superior to any we’ve had before.Caroline and her team were on hand to help out with everything and made us all feel very special and welcome even with all the extra covid precautions they have in place at the moment. Lovely pub in a beautiful village, well worth a visit!!!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today, even though the excellent carvery is no longer available due to the corona virus restrictions in place. The off the menu roast did not disappoint. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, my little boy is very fussy and wanted something that wasn’t on the menu but the young girl who served us said it wouldn’t be a problem. The chocolate gateaux desert was also a hit with the whole family.

If you have no where else to go, in all of Norfolk fine. I think I have had better dinners at wakes. We were one of very few tables (on a Friday night) and were not allowed into the bar area to finish off our wine as the number of people in there exceeded their allowance, however, minute after minute new patrons kept walking in without question. The food wasn’t great at all, quite a greasy fish and the chicken curry was questionable even as a hospital meal beige to say the least. The waitress didn’t grasp the concept of wearing a mask properly even though I feel like this is quite simple. Lots of chin protection going on, certainly not mouth and nose. Doesn’t help when she was coughing about...

"My wife and I stayed here for a few days to celebrate my birthday. We chose Titchwell Manor due to its location on the A149. From here we can catch the Coasthopper up or down the coast. The bus stops are 100 metres outside the hotel. We were greeted in the car park and shown to our room behind the hotel. We had Basil number 21. It is a large comfortable room, with walk in shower and the fluffiest towels we have ever had. The room was very well heated and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was served from a civilised 8am. The plate of fresh fruit was really good. If you choose to have you eggs poached they will be the most perfect you will ever have with their lovely orange yokes. The rest of the components were equally good and served with leaf tea or great coffee. The bars each had a lovely roaring log fire, where we enjoyed a drink before our meal. The menu choices we made were ham hock, brioche piccalilli and burnt apple purée followed by venison, Jerusalem artichoke and rainbow kale. The other choice was marinated beetroot, basil pesto and goats cheese cream followed by salt baked celeriac, sage and onion with crispy kale. Both meals were outstanding. The venison was very tender and the celeriac was outstanding. On the basis of this dish, a very under stated vegetable. Service was very good and served at a speed we dictated without the continual pestering we have experienced elsewhere. We will definitely come back here as the whole stay was a great experience."
