"My wife and I called in one evening by chance after many months away due to the lock down. It wasn't that busy being mid week so it was cosy and intimate . We both had a lamb dish that was amazing and some rice. The service was attentive but not obtrusive from a buzzy friendly waiter that made you feel at ease and at home ready for your meal. Prices compare more or less to other fine dining restaurants. It can get busy weekends apparently . Yes I highly recommend it, go you won't be disappointed"

I love this restaurant! Its pretty hidden in Bromley on chatterton road parade of shops but is definitely worth a visit too.

Amazing, eating was probably one when the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten. the prices corresponded to the eating, the personal was friendly gave free drinks when we asked about the bill. the restaurant itself is modern and has a ground floor area with bar, would recommend definately!

"Last week I had poached eggs and toast which was a big mistake as their was loads of hot water within the eggs which turned the bread to mush. This week I tried scrambled eggs on toast and the eggs were over cooked to rubber and the bread was old and fit only for the bin. "I recently had dinner at this restaurant and had a fantastic dining experience. The price per person was between £20 and £30, which I found to be very reasonable for the quality of food. The food was excellent, I would give it a 5 out of 5 rating. The service was also great, I would rate it a 4 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and welcoming, I would give it a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the French Onion Soup and Moule Sauce Roquefort dishes, they were absolutely delicious."

"Our search for high quality restaurants in and around Orpington received a massive boost after our visit to Indian Essence. The exterior and location are rather unassuming but do not be fooled by that the quality of the food is exceptional, befitting the connection the restaurant has with Benares. The Daal Makhani and the Tandoori Murg dishes were particular favourites and the overall experience was enhanced by the complimentary amuse bouch. However, on the downside the restaurant was practically empty and lacked any atmosphere at all although this could be due to the post Xmas blues. "This is a really nice restaurant whose lunch menu provides great value for money. While it's not made clear on the lunch menu itself, you get both a starter and a main for £9. The portions were good sizes and we all thought it was really delicious and authentic tasting food. This is one place where we will definitely go to again. The ambience is nice and the waitstaff we had was attentive and friendly."
