I had the chicken kebab, and it was ok, but more coleslaw than everything. the staff was nice and friendly, but eating didn't blow me away.

Great little place providing burgers and Indian food. Service was pleasant and they apologised for wait. If you're not in a rush or very hungry then sit back with a drink and enjoy the view while you wait.

really good vegan eating. we had a kebab and shattered, both very good. fortunately they made a child size version of the fish and chips for our daughter. will definitely come back when we are in the opposite. Speisekarte ansehen

The hempist is my go to place when I'm visiting in Hastings. They have wide variety of food available. I have never had a problem with this place. It unique and quirky. But can very crowded when busy. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-24

sa from the first stage opened window, view of the sea. we shared Indian options that were absolutely tasty as the cocktails (as back to try their award-winning vegan fish chips) do not let them off from the hippy vibe overloaded facade: eating and service are great!

the anchor inn is by far the best pub in hastings. all beers are brewed in kent locally and you find dinge like spitfire, late red, brew master and bishops finger. I have tried them all, of course in moderation! they are usually amber beer that are not my favorite, but it is still a good place. the staff is very friendly and there are kamine in every corner of the pub. Initially I was delighted to see the sign that read ‘award winning vegan fish and chips’. In hindsight, I would not have wasted my money. Although the chips were good, as others have stated, with the fish there was no attempt to replicate any flavour. Instead what we received was a deep fried, stringy piece of unseasoned banana blossom. Perhaps the other options would’ve left a better impression. Still, there are a lot of options so try and support the business if you can and hopefully the quality will improve in time.

the personal was friendly and the place is quirky and colorful. smootheias were in order, but quite expensive for what they were. the salat of the day was simply shredded salat with a kind of meat substitute / cut on it that was not aromatic and nobody on the table wanted to eat it. the banana-blooded fish and chips were very disappointing – the chips and the tartaric acid sauce were nice! but the banan blossom was oily, slimy in the inner, a little burnt at orda, and no effort was made to make it tasty in any way! (I had fantastic banana blossom fish before I know that it can be done much better.) the muddy plucked were ca. 15min after the main meal bought, were watery and not very deliciou...

I hate giving low reviews, especially to all vegan places I ordered cheesy garlic nachos and cauliflower wings my two go tos a) because i love them but also b) i feel like you can tell a lot about a vegan place on these two options. I ordered and went to sit upstairs as the space downstairs is a bit cramped. My food took a little time but its okay as I think they were sorting out an error on someone elses order. I have attached a picture so you can already see, but it was a plate of tortilla chips in a pile, with various tiny pieces of salad dotted around the outside, with shredded unmelted cheese and houmous.
