"The food at this restaurant was the best I have had in a long time - delicious and well presented. The staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. I enjoyed sitting outside in the sun on a pretty street. This is the type of pub you wish you had in your local area. It was a very different experience compared to a recent one in Hasketon. The price per person was between £20-30, and I would rate the food and service a perfect 5, with the atmosphere receiving a 4."

Went there for lunch with a friend on a Wednesday. Really lovely place with an interesting menu and dishes were beautifully prepared and presented. Also went there on a busy Saturday afternoon. Went for a family meal on a Monday night, glad we booked as most tables were full (sign of a good restaurant). The food was amazing, not sure 5 stars is a high enough rating. Brilliant pub and kitchen. All dishes delicious: blue cheese ham croquetas, crispy sardine and panzanella (stand-out), brown shrimp, and mains of bacon chop and an excellent home-made brown sauce, and curried cod cheeks with super curried garnishes. Really tasty, gutsy cooking, with upbeat, good-natured service. Nice little wine list too. White Rioja was delicious. We’d definitely return on another visit to Hastings. Price per person: £40–50
