This charming little pub is slightly off the beaten path but well worth the visit. They offer a diverse menu featuring classic English pub dishes as well as some fantastic specialties.

Very good, helpful and polite staff before and during the visit. Our visit was for a family catch up. We were put in the cubby which was excellent for our group. Will definitely consider another visit.

pub has comfortable guestrooms with private bathrooms located at the back of the establishment. There is a pleasant beer garden, a pool table for entertainment, live bands performing on weekends, and occasional drink specials available. Speisekarte ansehen

we enjoyed a very nice Sunday dinner today. roast beef was delicious with a generous meat. my sister had mushroom and spinat risotto, which was creamy and cooked for perfection. apfel and blackberry crumble x2 was delicious. the service was excellent. very recommended and will return definitiw.

Thank you again for another lovely visit. Special thanks to the manager who is so hospitable and friendly a credit to the industry. We enjoyed gorgeous steaks beautifully cooked thanks to the chef too. All the staff are brilliant and very welcoming and good at their jobs. A pleasure to dine here in a beautiful pub. 10 out of 10 from us and dog friendly too.

The roasts here are excellent we had the weekly special which was Lamb the Beef. Very good atmosphere, it was busy when we visited which is always a good sign. Nice location having walking access to woodlands for a stroll before lunch. Christmas decor set the mood for a great lunch. Each of us had a different Sunday roast lunch including the pork, beef and vegetarian, all of which where fab. If I was picky and had to change one thing, it'd be the pork crackling that didn't seem to have been part of the pork roast itself. I'd definitely go back.

This wonderful historic guest house, dating back to 1561, features a section of an intriguing old toll station on one corner. Although it has been renovated and expanded, it still retains a unique charm and appealing character. The food is outstanding, and there is a great selection of beers. With plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, it's a perfect spot to enjoy a summer evening. The staff is friendly, and you can engage in interesting conversations with the locals.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with another couple. Although it was quite busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive throughout our visit, despite clearly being overwhelmed. The menu offered a great selection of roasts and other main dishes; we opted for the roast, sharing beef, pork, and the roast chicken of the day. All of the roasts were excellent, and the portion sizes were quite generous. We also shared cauliflower cheese (which was just okay) and stuffing (which was superb). The vegetables included cabbage, roasted carrots, and parsnips, all perfectly cooked. We were already quite full, but the dessert options were too appealing to resist! The apple crum...
