The Finnieston - Speisekarte

Stunning experience from start to finish attentive waiting staff. Incredible oysters and lobster. Wine list was amazing do you need anything else in life? ;

What an excellent place, great location for concerts at Ovo Hydro and SEC. Staff were amazingly helpful and attentive and the food was superb fish and chips absolutely recommended. We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous little bistro in the lovely Finnieston district. Pretty close to the OVO so ideal for pre-gig dining. Nice chilled atmosphere and great service. The Oysters and Lobster Thermidor were both amazing. Would definitely recommend and will return! Speisekarte ansehen

Poor service and although the food was nice enough, the service let it down. Even though we paid a deposit of £10 per person, we weren't given the courtesy of selecting our table. Very poor as the table we wanted remained free for the whole time we were at the restaurant.

Stopped by The Finnieston before and after dinner, still trying to make our way to the Italian restaurant we were headed too, but since we just had appetizers, we decided to stop for a drink, had a great time and told the bartender we will back, which in fact we were! Can't testify about the food, but I can talk about the drinks, because I did have a few! I do recall ordering The Fifty Fifty Martini and Bijou cocktail, and I had a few others ones too. The bartenders were friendly and even if the bar was crowded, you really didn't have long to wait for your next drink. The Finnieston will be one of my favorite bar hoping stops, looking forward to making my way back!

We were only here for a few drinks after dinner close by. My companion craved an old fashioned bourbon style and I wasn't quite sure what I wanted from the cocktail menu but quite fancied something Amaretto based. Our server gleefully took up the challenge and did not disappoint, our drinks were made with skill and attention to detail and served to us at the table. Both were sipped excitedly, while the conversation was less awe inspiring the background music and cute little dog next to us made it an even more enjoyable experience. Certainly a vast improvement since the last time, but lordy me it’s an expensive place serving meagre portions. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good and Molly our server was very good and knew her stuff, food was delivered on time in full with no errors. Look at the attached image, I ordered the whole sea bass, which was lovely albeit didn’t expect it to be served on the bone, no sides or nothing. My friend ordered the halibut served as what could be best described as a starter portion size, to charge what you charged was shocking, no more than what you would get in a readymade meal portion, yes I get it’s halibut but what you served up was meagre and gone in 3 mouthfuls. Had a fantastic dinner here. The cocktail menu is inventive and extensive with snappy descriptions of what each drink entails, but because I am basic I ordered a vodka gimlet. (For the record, it was perfect. I do feel bad that my waiter patiently walked me through the whole menu before I decided to just get the same thing I always do. Such is life. As for food, I started with the fish soup of the day which I believe was haddock, followed by the sea bass. I like to really lean into the whole seafood thing. OK, our second visit to The Finnieston came about through a 5pm Valentine's deal offering 3 courses and a glass of prosecco for £49. Not a bad deal, we thought as we booked it online. We turned up at the restaurant to find that they apparently had no record of our booking. Luckily, my ever-prepared better half had a printout of the email that we could waft under their faces and, after some off-stage discussion with the manager, they soon managed to find us a table at the window. The next surprise came when the server listed all the dishes that were not part of the deal, almost half the menu as it turned out. For those other dishes, there was a £5 per portion surcharge.
