"For my main course, I had the halibut steak with baby potatoes, and it was outstanding! The fish was cooked to perfection, with a delicate sear and tender, fresh meat. The chef truly excelled with this dish! The baby potatoes were soft but had enough firmness to hold their shape, and the dressing on the plate was just right for enhancing the flavor. I also decided to try an oyster for the first time. The staff were very helpful in explaining how to eat it. Following a friend's advice, I added some lemon juice and Tabasco sauce, along with a few drops of shallot vinaigrette. Instead of swallowing it right away, I let the oyster sit on my tongue for a moment to savor the flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've heard oysters can be hit or miss, but this one was definitely a hit—even for a picky eater like me! The white wine I chose was a nice complement to the meal, with subtle fruity notes that were not overpowering, pairing well with the various fish dishes. If you appreciate high-quality, fresh food cooked to perfection, this is the place for you! I’d rate it a perfect 10/10 and have already recommended it to friends. A big thank you to the staff for a delicious meal and a delightful evening! For vegetarians, I noticed a few options on the menu, and the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate larger groups, making it kid-friendly as well."

"Revisit 4th July 2024 Still a great pub to visit. Food came out in good time, very tasty and filling. Staff attentive and polite. Popped in for lunch today and it was very nice. The outside area has been done up so when they are allowed to open fully it will be very nice. Feel Covid secure so very happy. Food was a little slow to come but that seems to be the same with a few pubs I've been to so not marking down for that. I had the Bacon and Cheese burger which is home made and was very tasty, very pleased. Best Halloumi fries over ever had!! Can recommend them for sure. I had the Chocolate and Peanut butter brownie. It was nice but could have been a bit sweeter. Still very happy either way."

"Popped in spontaneously as myself and my partner were hungry. Small, cosy place with a decent menu and not outlandishly priced. Busy but tables were available (our visit was during the week). Older gentleman on site was very attentive, but not pushy; we took some time to decide on what we wanted to order. Opted for a toasty each and they charged no more than the chained coffee shops ask for, so I don’t feel ripped off. Would return if that sort of food is what I’m after, but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way."

"I always choose the cosy club if asked by my family, but maybe will rethink this in future sadly. For my birthday my daughter booked us dinner and we were then going on to a show. Sadly my Sea bass meal was so extreemly salty I struggled to eat it .even removing the crispy skin (which I love) still the sauce was terribly salty. I love salt so for me to say this is rare. Also the boiled potatoes in the sauce were not freshly cooked, they had a previously cooked refrigerator taste. When asked by the lovely waitress what we thought I did say mine was very salty to which I recieved a nonchalant responce,we were rushing off so I didn't want to upset my daughter by complaing but was so very disappointed and this morning I'm very dry drinking loads of water. Also I hope you will rethink your starter size as we ordered the Arancini and others had the pulled pork and bacon croquet When they came they all looked identical and resembled too small lumps on the plate!! My daughter ordered the salmon with noodles,fish was very small almost mean portion size, although sauce was nice I don't often give reviews unless very bad or very good food service So I will also say the service was very good, the dirty burger and house burgers were very good no complaints from others. So because of that we did give a tip and 3 stars but if it was for just my experience it wd have been 2 stars, sorry Please look into these issues."
