"Service or a tip to recognise a great experience is optional, but there is an increasing trend of restaurants automatically adding the charge to the bill. When I dine high end, this is very well deserved but when ‘chain restaurants’ start, it disincentives the servers and other restaurant staff to go above and beyond. What it does is actually say, every price on the menu is actually more expensive and in this case, 12.5%… Our server was nice enough and very well presented, but we had to wait for our drinks order and a colleague had to step in to help whilst our server was embroiled in some sort of disagreement with other customers, so really was this such a great experience that everything we ordered deserved to be 12.5% more? No. Yes I could’ve asked to have it removed, but be honest the mere act of doing so would cause embarrassment for me, my guests and the server who I would’ve tipped, just maybe not to the amount automatically charged. Call me cheap but I think I’m right and many would agree. Tipping is the right of the customer, not the demand of the restaurant."

Had a delicious lunch and loved the fact that had Asian dishes in addition to the British style menu. The duck salad was excellent.

So very disappointed with this experience. The food was ok the service was so very disappointing. Paid for an all round experience and left feeling that I would definitely not recommend this restaurant visit again. Have been to other locations and service has been impeccable.

Hit and miss. Nice staff, nice atmosphere, really quick service. Amazing old fashioned, chocolate bombe pudding perfect. But starters minutes after cocktails and snacks and all felt rushed. Soufflé was bad. Mains were okay but not great. Expensive for what it was so probably won’t go again.

On Saturday we took my dad and 9 friends and family for his 80th birthday. We had a fabulous time, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was amazing! (Recommend the crispy duck salad The chairs were so comfy we didn’t want to leave. The atmosphere was buzzing. We changed the taxis times twice because we didn’t want to go home. Thank you so much for making his birthday very special : Speisekarte ansehen

Firstly we had a lovely time... food was good, although the fries were very greasy. The **** Mary's were lovely, the game was rating which one was the best as each time we ordered they tasted very different, the spicy one was our favourite. The service was ok although a little hit and miss but the waiting staff were all really friendly. The only negative was front of house, the guy was so up himself and unwelcoming.

We've been to this Ivy before for a meal and found it to be nice enough to want to visit again with parents for afternoon tea. Unfortunately it was very very average, I'd say I've had better afternoon teas at garden centers or local cafes. 2 little finger sandwiches and a tiny brioche bun each are not enough in the savoury department. The sweets were nice and well presented but nothing was Wow...for £30 a head I really expected more. Sadly won't visit again.

Nice menu, great decor . Good service. What more do you need? Good selection on menu made it hard to decide what to have. I was tossing up between the shepherds pie. Fish and chips or burger. Finally decided on the aubergine dish! All the meals were delicious. The slt crusted sour dough we ordered for starters was massive and enough for about 6 people. We also had a portion of the courgette fries which was very generous and tasty. Nicely dressed fellow diners and funky designed restrooms. Fun times. Speisekarte ansehen

Six of us visited The Ivy. We ordered 6 cocktails for starters, while we waited the waitress returned to say three of them were out of stock and that a whole section of cocktails were unavailable. We suspect that the cocktails came from premade cartons which is disappointing. We then ordered wine from the wine list only to again be told it was out of stock. We asked for a substitute to compensate for the disappointing availability of drinks but were firmly told they wouldn't consider this. The waitress was lovely and friendly and the food was fine but overall it felt poor value for money given the lack of drinks.

Visited with special friends, food was excellent but service at the end of the meal surprised us as the waitress asked for a tip! We said we had paid 12.5% service charge and not prepared to pay any more! She was still asking as she said the company keep the service charge and they don’t get any of it. Quite unprofessional of her in my opinion. Also 3 of us shared bottle of wine, she poured far too much in each glass first time, especially as we prefer our wine cold, so second time only enough for two of us which was embarrassing so she said have another bottle! The cheapest being £32! Not happy not being able to pour our own wine either. Such a shame as it’s a lovely place and great food.

"added dropwise for a pizza on the afternoon without reservation, and we were warmly welcomed and set immediately. the smell of reifer tomatensauce and gooey mozzarella in the stone oven under fire baked was an salutation to the sinnen. the restaurant was filled with a pleasant humor of talking and laughing, the sound of the teigs chopped in the kitchen, and the familiar sound of tellers and cutlery picked up and put down again - all with weak Italian music plays in the background. the ambiente was a tasteful hauch of seafoam blue on the wooden wall panels and equipped with sturdy furniture with red chili oils, salt and peppers and various types of fresh crimp on each table. a table can have salvia, another basilikum, the next coriander. a charming, subtler node to the l 'arte d 'arrangiarsi the art of making something from nothing of pizza. the menu was easy and easy to navigate, nothing to slandered level and nothing too adventurous. we ordered a pesto pizza and we asked for extra tomato sauce to which our server would be happy insured. after many times we came to our table customers and sleeps! the pesto had a tasteful taste and was pleasant tangy, the tomato sauce was juicy and not quite watery, and the mozzarella was evenly distributed and reached every end of the teigs. the best part, however, was the thick, soft resistance of the crust - not even the least incineration, but just at the right time pulled out of that. a 1 x 1 ' ft perfectly presented pizza. the, with two fizzy drinks, for less than 20 £. will return for the same, but with the intention to add a little red wine."
