The River House - Speisekarte

I visited this restaurant for my son's birthday and I highly recommend it. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be returning and will be recommending it to my family and friends.

Went here for a business dinner of us, the food was excellent. I had the scallops as a starter and they were amazing, for my mains I had the pork belly again it was a great choice. Fantastic selection of wines and beers, all...my Co-worker’s were very pleased with my choice of a restaurant. Totally recommend everyone to try them out.

My wife and I always come in for a quiet date night, but this time we booked for our family Christmas get together. We were including two under years old, every one was really pleased with their choices from their Christmas menu. Eleven of us from work had food from their Christmas menu. From the time we arrived until we left we were looked after. There was a lovely welcome when we arrived and the bar and resteraunt area was spaciously set out. Our food was served...promptly. All of our choices were delicious and beautifully presented. All the staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay.

I visited this restaurant for lunch during the week. The service was a bit slow, but acceptable. The restaurant was quite warm and there was a lot of sun glare (they may consider installing blinds or a screen for intense sunlight). The food was as expected, similar to previous visits. I usually order the seafood linguini, which is very enjoyable with plenty of seafood. The lamb had good flavor, but my partner found it to be very fatty. The restaurant has a lovely view of the Tawe. I am looking forward to returning in warmer weather for drinks outdoors.

I visited this restaurant for lunch today and opted for the set menu. The appetizers and main course were delicious, and we were enjoying our meal. However, after we finished our main course, the service took a downturn. We had planned on having dessert but after our plates were cleared, no one came to offer us drinks or ask if we wanted dessert. We waited for a while but decided to leave without dessert. I had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. Although the food was good, the poor service was disappointing. Despite the restaurant being busy, waiting over 30 minutes without any dessert order or drink offer is unacceptable. We felt neglected in our corner table while other diners were bein... We had the set Christmas menu, which was very limited. The “fishcake” was mainly cheese sauce and potato, I didn’t taste any fish, neither did my friends. The sea bass! I don’t know where to start, bland, tasteless and served on what looked like a...pepper, aubergine, courgette thrown in with a tin of tomatoes. The worst part was my friend is gluten free. She ordered the dinner, and was served it with non gluten free gravy! Which resulted in her not eating any of it after asking the waitress if thegravy was gluten free. The waitress said there is only a small amount of flour in the gravy! It only takes a small amount for her to be violently ill. They then boxed her dinner up as a take away,...

Covid precautions were lax. At the door there was do it yourself pen and paper tracking system plus a hand sanitiser. They were not supervised and several guests chose to ignore these and walked straight in. At least people walked into the restaurant not...wearing face coverings but they were not stopped. (It is mandatory in Wales to wear a face covering for walking into a restaurant and then walking around a restaurant). One of these four visited the toilet and again was not wearing a mask. The food we received tonight was nothing to rave about. It was a rushed meal which fell completely short of our expectations. It was my brothers graduation to which we had booked a table of five. My Mum had tested positive yesterday and unfortunately could...not attend. My mother is a nurse who has worked endlessly throughout the pandemic.
