The Ship Inn - Speisekarte

Popped in for a pub lunch, frankly with low expectations given the popular location. A simple lunch, a crab sandwich, was prepared with immaculate fresh crab, off the boat that morning. Accompanied by a fine pint of IPA. Brilliant.

So good we visited twice during our holiday Good simple pub grub, served with friendly manner Although the burger was simple the meat was good Very nice chips Not cheap, but they have you stuck on the island Small fish and chips was cheaper and adequate for a smaller appetite

Very disappointed after reading the reviews. Phoned twice trying to book a table, left messages, no response, Scampi and chips, very so so, oil needs changing. Only one member of staff had a smile, loos poor condition, seems like they don’t care as they have such a captive audience. Wish we had taken a picnic.

We booked for tea in advance of our visit as we had read this was advisable, and I would agree. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the interior had a nice village pub atmosphere. The food (Vegetable curry, and Pie Chips) was really nice, and good portions too. Would definitely recommend this location to anyone.

Paul is an unbelievable host! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left he made us feel so welcome. He is a very knowledgeable man who is very kind and thoughtful. He went above and beyond ensuring we were feed and watered after a 8 mile walk. The food was amazing! We had the steak and ale pie. This is such a friendly place to have a drink or some food. Would highly recommend it.

Had the lovely experience of staying here for a night, the room and the pub itself are so so lovely!! Massive thank you to the staff, who were incredible and accommodating. The food was fantastic (highly recommend the fish and chips) and service was quick and amazing no matter how rushed off their feet they were! The room was lovely and a very high standard we absolutely loved our stay here and will be back!

We went in for the crab sandwiches and a pint, was not disappointed, the sandwich was delicious. unfortunately we had a long wait at the bar for a while due to the volume of people using the pub and only the land lord serving. However I found the land lord was amazing how he kept the pub moving with clearing a table, letting people know where the tables were and when available and managing to serve drinks coffees and take orders for food. Once our order was in, it didn't take long to come. Yes I would definitely go again, it just needs another staff member to help the poor land lord out.

Don't normally do reviews however our evening in the ship deserved a few nice words after reading a negative review posted at same time we were on island and probably same day. Fresh hot food all brought out at same time although very busy wasn't too long a wait. Gave me chance to try all 3 beers that were on tap. After the meal we sat in the bar(all couples on different tables . As dining had finished, paul the landlord was telling some stories of the island and as there was a French couple in asked if they would like a song request. Wish I knew name of song now as the French chap was over the moon to hear it. This got the whole bar talking to each other .Each couple got a turn for a song (...

Visited the pub on the island for an early afternoon pint and maybe some food. Being the first pub we encountered on the island and advertised 3 beers on entering and approaching the bar the landlord just stood staring at us and said nothing. My husband asked what beers he was serving and was told only one beer available as he had been that busy. When we asked about food told no more orders. All tables had reserved signs so we asked if we could sit down and have a quick beer and he said no the pub was virtually empty buy we was advised it would be rammed in 10 minutes but, pointed in the direction of the beer garden.
