"Tukdin is an excellent Malaysian restaurant. If you 're in the Paddington area, don 't miss it. I was so delighted by it that I returned the following night. Over several years in SE Asia, I 'd travelled up and down peninsular Malaysia from Georgetown to Johore, as well as Malaysian Borneo and multiple visits to Singapore and Indonesia, with their Malay variations. The satay starter is excellent. (It 's not on skewers, but after all, you 're buying at a restaurant, not from a street vendor), The fish curry: also excellent, with a thick filet of fresh sea bass swimming in the spices. The Beef Rendang was also first-rate. The coconut rice is an excellent side for soaking up all the curry. So is their roti (which isn 't on their internet menu, but they do serve it). The lychee tea was a little disappointing: very mild. Still, I absolutely rate Tukdin 5 stars: excellent. The local Malay community (whether peninsular, archipelagic, or Peranakan) definitely likes this place: get there early to secure a table. The kitchen staff and wait-staff are both absolutely first-rate. The owners, cooks, and beautiful young lady who was our waitress, all get a giant Terima kasih! from me!"

Very tasty malay food. The menu is so generous and the service is great even though the restaurant was full during our whole stay. We will definitely come back!

Got the char kuey teow and it was quite nice but really expensive. Just got that and a sprite and it cost me around £17 including the compulsory service charge! The service was quick though

This is a small cafe style restaurant. We wasn’t put off at all. This was a warm and small restaurant that had absolutely fantastic food. We travelled from Milton Keynes and Leicester. Highly recommend anyone wanting great halal food. This is a must go with great service and food. Speisekarte ansehen

Very small but Original Malaysia Food. I was absolut overwhelmed about the taste. The Food Transfer me directly to Malaysia. Try out the Sweet tea, chicken with garlic, Nasi rice dishes, spring rolls and all the curry and chili dishes. Be aware, hot spicy means chili spicy. Some dishes are not so much spicy, but everything is very good. Will I come back? Definitely yes!

Booked dinner here for 2 people very glad we did as the place was FULL (mostly with Malaysians), which was a good sign. The food is authentic; the nasi goreng kampong took me back to our last visit to the country. The staff were super busy, so service was a bit haphazard, but it really didn't matter. We were welcomed into conversation by the Malaysian family at the next table and shared food between us. Magical. Would definitely eat here again.

Came in for a quick noodle fix and enjoyed the authentic Malaysian dishes very much. On the hawker menu, the mee goreng and chicken satay were excellent, and the beef rendang was far better than the one we had in Borough market earlier in the week. Some reviewers said it was pricey, but hey it's a lot cheaper than a flight to Penang or Singapore. Would come back for sure. Service was fast and friendly as well. No alcohol unfortunately, as a beer would've accompanied the spicy food well. Speisekarte ansehen

Visited around 9pm on Wednesday. We ordered 2 x chicken satay to be advised that it would be too much for 2 and boy, was the lovely lady right, who suggested have 1 and a curry puff. We did and it was bang in, spicy and hot and lovely. 1 beef randang, and 1 beef in chilli paste with 2 rice and mixed vegetables. Far too much, and as we were staying in a hotel, couldn't really take away. Then banana fritters and black rice pudding. A little expensive, but given the amount we ordered worth it. Tip is to order less.

We were staying at a local hotel whilst having a break in London and found this hidden gem. It is a small family run restaurant and the food and service were really really good. If we hadn't got a meal included in our hotel package we would have eaten here on our second night as well! I had beef in spicy soy sauce (no 42) and my wife had mussels cooked in light coconut sauce with lemon grass (no 22) and we shared a rice dish flavoured with coconut milk, fennel seeds, ginger and pandan leaf (no 72). The dishes complimented each other perfectly. They obviously take pride in their food and how they serve it. Thank you very much

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
