Bistrot Constant - Speisekarte

We had lunch her twice in June. The canal-side setting in inassuming Montech is a delight. The menu is a steal with the most inventive and accurate cuisine. Perfect service and decent wines complete the pleasure. Worth the journey!

A great location, excellent ambiance and design and above all a first class meal. Kir and carafe d’eau, excellent rouge for drinks. Crostillant de gamba, fillet de veau and finished with tarte tartan. To be recommended and we will return.

We never expect much from restaurants that are easily accessible to tourists (this time on the Canal de Garonne) but this was excellent. Fully recommjend. Only criticism is that the lighting was too bright making it feel a little canteen-like. ambiance please.

A great restaurant in a lovely location alongside the Canal de Garonne. We went for a walk along the canal path but could not resist lunch when we came across this lovely restaurant. The staff were superb and the food very good. It was a...great surprise and I would love to go back for a full dinner with wine some day.

This restaurant is in a beautiful setting beside the Canal du Midi and I have been several times over the past few years when visiting friends there. The service is friendly and very efficient, the food is wonderful and local wines are excellent value. Perfect...for those passing in boats as there appear to be quite a few moorings and well worth a drive if not!

We sat outside and ordered the appetizer and main — we had a mousse-type seafood appetizer which was absolutely delicious, followed by the bass in a tomato based sauce with roasted vegetables. The flavours of the food are unique and a real treat for the...taste buds. The atmosphere and service was excellent as well, perched beside the canal. Though pricey, I would definitely recommend experiencing lunch at Bistrot Constant.

Actually, it wasn't much of a detour! We were aleady in Beaumont, kms or so away, but a local music festival there meant that restaurants were either closed or full. Montech was on the map, but it probably wouldn't be too high up on...your list of places to visit in this beautiful region of SW France. We were so pleased by our discovery, on the recommendation of our B&B owners, of Bistrot Constant and its lovely canal-side location. For around euros you get a good choice, both in terms of the set menus or a la carte. Local wines are inexpensive and delicious. Our meals were well-presented, very tasty and nicely cooked. We could have lingered for hours definitely one to go back to one day.

Quite the most surreal lunch experience of our trip... We were cycling the Canal du Garonne, and mention was made, in our trip guide, of a cafe that may be able to provide lunch at Montech. Road road stained, we turned up to find that...the 'cafe' was an immaculate restaurant, with starched linen and attentive staff. The staff didn't bat an eyelid at our cycling clothes, or at the various bits of nature we had collected about our persons en route. We were sat at an outside table, amidst families, couples and 'ladies who lunch' and were provided with a lunch of such precision and skill that it all seemed it had been a rather wonderful dream. The setting is lovely, the food even better a lovel...

We've passed by this place any number of times and never stopped to sample the fare our big mistake! Finally made it today, and surprisingly or not for a Monday it was very busy no matter, the restaurant is well staffed and the...service was prompt, efficient and helpful faultless. The a la carte menu had a range of interesting dishes across the board and nothing run of the mill. Entrees we chose the crab, courgette gazpacho which was excellent as was the perfect poached egg in light breadcrumbs with a tomato, sweet red pepper and onion concasse with wafer thin slices of poitrine….utterly delicious. My wife chose the baby squid with chorizo, risotto base for main and for me the John Dory fil...
