"At Graze on 6 Oct evening , with a friend belated birthday treat restaurant looked great, nice atmosphere, lovely menu. Impressed with the breads and tapenade, starters were also very nice beef noodles and monk fish special , then the problems start…we waited ages between finishing our starter and main, which wasn’t great but ok as we were happy to catch up over our bottle of wine £26 . The mains then arrived 1x monkfish and 1x 10 oz fillet steak special £35 most expensive item on the food menu . I had ordered it medium rare and it arrived medium well. I stopped the senior server/hostess next time she passed by who I understand is part owner along with the chef and explained my steak wasn’t cooked as ordered she apologised and took it away. She then came back to the table and said it would be about a 5 min wait so she would top up my glass of wine, but then didn’t top up my friend’s we both felt this was very rude, as my friend was sitting with her meal and expected to eat it whilst I sat there with no food due to their mistake. During the wait well over 5 mins , I overheard a gentleman speaking to the hostess about their bill and that he also had to send food back her response ‘I can only tell you what the chef tells me’ her tone was far from what I’d expect when speaking to a disappointed customer. By the time the new steak arrived, we had finished our bottle of wine and the Parmesan chips we had ordered as a side £5/5.50 to share were cold. The steak was not like any fillet I’ve ever seen before nor the earlier fillet …. I’m not sure what cut it actually was but definitely not a fillet. I queried this with the hostess and was told abruptly it is, it’s just a bigger fillet. I mentioned that I felt it was really quite rude to fill my glass earlier without considering that my friend was having to eat her dinner alone and the hostess then snapped at me ‘so you want more wine then’. She poured some wine into my friend’s glass and what could only be described as a dribble into mine clearly trying to make a point. Unfortunately the steak looked totally unappealing but as I was really hungry by this point, I ate half of it. We weren’t in the mood to order desserts. The bill arrived £129 pre service charge no discount offered as gesture of good will. We spoke to another server who brought the bill and explained we really couldn’t justify paying the service charge given all the issues and how disappointed I had been with my steak both times, but if they could consider taking something off the bill we suggested the 2 cocktails £19 , we would be more than happy to pay the service charge on the full amount of the first bill. The server came back a few minutes later to say her supervisor the hostess, part owner wouldn’t agree as she’d already topped up our wine. Things go wrong, it happens but it’s how it’s made right and how you are made to feel. We were left very disappointed and this was honestly the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Hope you have better experience than we did!"

Thought I would try to support local and went with friends for a Christmas lunch. Worst turkey and ham dinner I have ever eaten. So bland and tasteless. Even the gravy had no taste. I had to pour salt and pepper over it just to make it edible. I have had better turkey and ham in diners for £6 than this place. Will not be back.

We have been going to Graze since it first opened and there are a few guarantees. The first one is that whatever comes out of the kitchen will be excellent. The second is that if you open the door of the restaurant and see Alana standing there you know that you can sit down and relax as you will get looked after as well as if not better than any restaurant in Belfast and I have been to many of them. The combination of fantastic food and such welcoming and friendly service from Alana is why we keep going back to Graze.

Atrocious inedible food for me. My aubergine was so undercooked the fork almost stood upright in it. Drab accompanying vegetables poorly presented and under cooked. I sent it back. My coffee at the end was vile. Burnt and bitter. My husband had steak which he said was almost inedible. Chewy and veiny and a friend had his packed up in a doggy bag. Another friend initially ordered scallops but was told only 2 of 15 in the fridge were fresh and usable. None of our company was really satisfied. The place was expensive and over rated online. As we left staff members were out the back smoking. An utterly underwhelming experience . Speisekarte ansehen

This place used to be at the top of the tree in Ballyhackamore but it’s a completely different experience now compared to pre-covid times. Went with a group of friends for a Christmas lunch….3 courses for 30 odd quid. Started was ok. Main of Turkey and ham was very disappointing. Poor portion, half a plate covered in food with gravy on the other half, nothing particularly great on the half plate. Cheese and crackers for after was nothing short of woeful. Couple of crackers with some slivers of cheddar, that was it. When my friend asked if there was any other cheese due, the waitress was ridiculously poor in responding “the menu clearly states it’s only cheddar” before stomping off. The staff...

Very disappointed…first up the wine list was amateurish, I think someone thinks they are a restaurateur! I remember the story about man who put chocolate in his chilli, yes it has potential if done right… The sales pitch was glorious and we all had bought into this exotic taste experience! Then we tried the chocolate chilli, oh dear,he had convinced himself and us of grandeur cheffing ability or an ability to serve a high standard of taste. Food is trust and that has been broken. Well lets say once we took a mouthful there was a long silence, not of sublime amazement of something unique, but of shock! Yes shock, that the sale pitch tasted better than what was in our mouths…Our Graze experien...

We got a seat late on in the evening, very good for this usually busy establishment. 1st off I felt the entrance, makes you feel stared at as you walk in, no front of house. The service from waiting staff was good, though I am concerned that our seat we could see staff, going out a back door to smoke...didn 't see hand washing thereafter smelt smoke from staff. The food itself was of high quality but not great portion sizes. My scallops were tiny. It 's a shame the steak I had was tasty, well made, but again, accompanying food was off small portions. My partners chicken was cooked well but not seasoned, nor was the champ. She thought the sauce was very watery thin Overall, we enjoyed the tas... Speisekarte ansehen

Disappointed, arrived at 7.25, too late for early bird, excuse given of till not allowing the earlier pricing at this later time, finishes at 7.30, ordered, waited 45 minutes for steak, pasta and fish main course, no service in between, 30 minutes in we asked a member of staff about our order, waitress told us it took 28/29 minutes to process order so this was about right?, honestly?, and staff were down by 30 , waited another 10 minutes, now 40 minutes in, kids pasta came, another 5 minutes until our main courses arrived, no service, no apology, just waiting, we were so hungry at this stage we were happy to get anything. We were right beside the bar/toilet where all the staff congregated, w...

I had heard a lot about Graze, the little, well-established restaurant in Ballyhackamore, Belfast. My aunt is a fan, and lunches there regularly. An old friend was over from Edinburgh, so we decided to reserve a table. Last night (Wednesday, 6th September, 2023) was one of the warmest evenings, and I 'm wondering if Graze has air conditioning? There was a large device on the ceiling. At any rate, this little establishment was thriving when we arrived at 7.30pm. We were shown to our two-seater table beside the open-plan kitchen and opted for the Summer Menu. I had Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle as a starter, which was substantial enough as starters go: well presented, interesting, and tasty. My ma...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
