"While we were in Bordeaux, we celebrated an anniversary and had a hard time to find out where to go for a nice dinner. We had not planned before, so some of the chic restaurants were not available. Fortunately, my wife found this place only about 1.5 km from the hotel. We went there and were pleasantly surprised to see several open tables inside and outside. We decided outside because it was a nice clear night. *Note that not smokers like us, avoid outside seats. We chose outdoor thinking it would be pleasant and pretty, but there are tons of cigarette smokers. Cool place to hang up and they have a killer menu. We ordered a few dishes from their menu, unfortunately they were already from what we wanted from their daily menu. But if they make food and they do, it's not really important when they're out. Usually I would be upset, but my goodness... they probably served me the best steak I ever had. Everything on our plates was so well balanced and so easy to eat. They had to take the time to enjoy the aromas on each dish. Even my salad I'm usually not a fan was so good that I wanted more. The duck my wife got was also extraordinary. The quality of the food here alone makes me want to make another international trip to Bordeaux."

Food was good, but long to come (kitchen is small in the staff's own's words. The staff is super nice, service a bit delayed though, and the local pretty noisy with the tram around. A good neighborhood venue, reasonably priced, with a cool bistro informal vibe.

Le Mirabelle isn 't too far from where we 're staying and the prix fix menu suited our preferences. It was a very busy lunch time but service was pretty good considering how many tables and the number of staff. They were very friendly though despite this and we were served promptly when we sat down. Between courses there was slight delay but that suited us very well as we were in no rush. The food was excellent great dishes, extremely well cooked and presented. My husband felt the main could have been slightly warmer but only a smidgen so no loss of star as far as I 'm concerned.
