only fabulous! had a 2 curs meal and was quite likely the best meal I had eaten in a past. the location was great and decoration really stunning. a visit worth

We came here 7 years ago, and decided to come back! We were not disappointed, the food was lovely, we had a deli platter chips, with a bottle of Voigner. Joel was very friendly, helpful and we loved chatting with him. Jade was lovely too

the food and service was absolutely perfect. a beautiful place to eat. no one to visit when they are in the wheelchair and can not run without it, as there are no disabled toilets, but the staff can open an upper floor door that they open out and up a ramp to access

Please like if helpful Interesting old pub with the building dating all the way back to 1688 with vaulted cellars for dining. Great service and really good fish and chips although a bit on the expensive side at £14 there is a cheaper lunch menu but but all day. Very close to Lancaster castle.

A bit disappointingly bang average. We went there for wine on a Saturday night and the wine selection was pretty boring (at least the options by the glass) so we had a French 75 cocktail which wasn’t good. The music was pop songs from 2000s which was an odd choice. Nice to be under the arches though.

Came for Father’s Day our first time visiting and we loved it. The atmosphere was so lovely, peaceful and cosy. We came on a Sunday so had the Sunday menu and opted for the lamb hotpot and the Sunday roasts and was one of the best roast dinners we have had, the lamb hotpot was also amazing! Great value for money 2 courses for £22, we loved it and definitely somewhere we would come back if visiting Lancaster.

Wonderful. Last ate here about ten years ago, this was a totally different experience. Food was incredibly good, with a very interesting menu. We had the cheese souffle, followed by salted beetroot as a veggie option and wild boar (with garlic sausage), with a side of nadju macaroni cheese. Superb, beautifully cooked, beautifully presented. Nice wine list, excellent serving staff. We ate absolutely everything.

Friendly, professional and helpful staff, with an excellent food selection and top quality food. Mostly wheelchair friendly, however toilets are on the the second floor so will be a problem for anyone who needs easy/regular access to a toilet. The restaurant is rather unique in comparison to others, as it is built into the hill and the dining area is underground, Despite this you can still get phone and data service. They have a beer garden out front, which can be busy at peak times and sunny days. Overall, it's definitely one of the restraunts I would recommend, especially if you're visiting Lancaster castle or just enjoy top quality food

service was good and we were quickly visited, although the bar was really busy when we arrived. the girl that served us was really sweet and friendly. eating in general was really delicious. burger was perfectly cooked and the beats were exactly right. the lamb hotpot was a great tasting dish. children's dishes were a little smaller, but I think we forgot to order the larger dishes. they enjoyed their meal until the last crumbs. beautiful choice of beer on hahn. the food lasted a little longer than expected, but I suppose that was because it was freshly prepared. So we didn't really notice it. the it area is somewhat small, so booking a table would be recommended. it's a beautiful unique env...
