Perfect in every sense. Food was delicious and timed well. Service was discreet but attentive. A restaurant full of happy couples on Valentine's evening.

We had a takeaway meal from here on a recent holiday. Faultless quality cod and chips, served in cardboard takeaway packaging. Well worthy of high trip advisor rating.

Had fish and chips what can I say but fantastic the fish was cooked so well so were the chips and the extras it came with was fantastic they need to keep hold of this chef absolutely fantastic....

Valentines evening taster menu was simply delicious. The presentation, flavours and the whole experience was truly worth it. It’s our second time at The Mermaids Slipper and I can assure you there will be many many more.

The Mermaids has been our first choice ‘special’ meal restaurant for a few years but this was our first visit since the change of ownership and were were not disappointed!The evening was built around a taster menu with timing perfect to allow the night to drift along without having to wait too long between courses.Staff were very good, polite and attentive. I’m sure all regulars will miss Caroline and Richard but all good things must change and the restaurant has not gone backwards at all.Will we be back of course!

I was pleased to hear that the Mermaids Slipper was to re open as a fish and chip take away with a difference after the focus lockdown.What a difference we ordered takeaway with friends, two of us had the haddock one the cod and I had the skate.All the fish was amazing great batter the chips were perfect all portions came with a slice of lemon, tartare sauce and pickled courgette.We also ordered a pot of the gravy which I highly recommend you get some perfect for dipping chips into.In conclusion it is well worth getting the takeaway you will not be disappointed, I will first on the phone to place my order on Wednesday when they are next open.To all the staff at the Mermaids Slipper keep up t...
