Popped in for an impromptu visit on the way to Heathrow Airport from Somerset. We were accommodated at short notice and have to say the standard of food and service were absolutely excellent. Would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

I recently went for lunch at this amazing restaurant, which I believe is the best spot for Sunday lunch. I was saddened to hear that the chef is retiring. The price per person was over £100, but the food, service, and atmosphere all deserved a perfect score of 5.

We went to The Alfred for a Sunday roast after a recommendation. They are only serving food at the pub until December 3rd, but we will miss everything about the food. Went for Sunday lunch. The staff were very nice and went out of their way to help with parking/wheelchair access for the more infirm folks in our party. Sunday lunch was huge £21 for one meat through to £25 for 3, but with a lot of trimmings so you probably only need one course. Tasty too. The atmosphere is not fancy/gastropub style more like a traditional boozer. Beer range looked good but i didn’t try due to driving duties.

Very small with limited parking but Oh My God, what a place for beer and food. Nowadays all restaurants charge high prices and the quality of food you get in return is pretty poor. Not here.the beers are fantastic with a great range, if you like ales then this is the place for you. The food is stunning and I mean out of this world good, all cooked fresh and to order. I had the 8oz filet steak and it was melt in your mouth good. Perfect, best I have ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough. All the staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Just go there, you won’t be disappointed.

We went to this restaurant for the first time with a group of six people and were impressed by the large portions of delicious food. Two of us ordered fish dishes and found them to be lovely. Another person tried the homemade fish cakes with salad and was unable to finish the generous portion. The lamb shanks were also a hit with two members of our group, as they were cooked perfectly and had plenty of meat. I opted for the calves liver and bacon, which was well-cooked and tasty. We all felt a bit guilty for not finishing the hearty portions of vegetables. Overall, we would highly recommend this restaurant. The price per person was around £30-40. Speisekarte ansehen
