"Outrageous expensive Sandwich and fries. Ordered as per request from QR code on the table. I ordered tomato and cheese with fries and a pint of Camden. What arrives was a very sorrowful thin granary sandwich with what looked liked ready made chive and cheese mush. Then to be told the QR code was wrong for this pub and they guessed , did it have Camden so offered Peroni. My wife had fish fingers on Brioche with chips in included at £10.95 far more value than the miserable wrong sandwich that was supplied at £8.45 plus fries at £3.95. The more I write the more angrier I find myself. The staff apologised that it was the system. As one has already paid via the QR code, you have already paid your money before seeing the food. Absolute miserable, far better value down the road at the riverside cafe in Bensons, much better place and food value excellent. This is an outrageous ripoff for this sandwich. I should also add that the Bill you are invoiced by Email doesn’t add up. It’s beyond me no matter how I interpret the vat on drinks and food which were both matched as 20%. Avoid there are far better value places. Maybe if my dissatisfaction at the time that I shared with the waiters was not so care freely ignored and unaddressed I could have been placated. That being said if the right sandwich had turned up it probably would have been woefully miserable . Food drinks: Outrageous expensive Sandwich and fries. "I have had a few take away meals from The Vine Spice and enjoyed them, so my wife and I treated friends to a meal at the restaurant there. Sadly and surprisingly I was extremely disappointed. One of our friend 's found that the chicken in their meal was undercooked (it was still pale pink and highlighted this to staff. It was taken away and a replacement given. The chicken in this was cooked fine, but the sauce was now much more watery and lacked flavour due to this (the other had a nice, thick creamy sauce . My wife and I are both vegan and member of staff taking our order didn 't seem too sure what this meant. During our meal, we had 3 different members of staff coming up asking us the same questions rather than one member of staff being given responsibility for this role. All the staff were very polite, but it was a little disconcerting to be trying to have a conversation only for another member of staff interrupt to ask a question asked a few minutes previously (e.g. whether everything was alright, whether we required any more drink etc. Our vegan curries had several hard pieces of veg (we don 't overcook our veg and enjoy a slight bite to them, but numerous bits of veg were virtually raw and must 've been chucked into the sauce moments before dishing up and my wife found some onion with the root still attached. Also, I did find the meal to be expensive for what you get. Given this experience, I won 't be getting any more meals from The Vine Spice ."

"I stopped by for a quick drink at this restaurant and was impressed by its beautiful exterior, fitting in perfectly with the sleepy historic village it is located in. The service from the young lady behind the bar was friendly. However, once inside, I was disappointed by the overly modern decor, with a poor attempt at a period look including 'distressed' wooden tables and chairs. The cask ale selection was half-hearted, and there was loud music coming from behind the bar. It's unfortunate that the modern makeover and management did not do justice to what could have been a lovely old pub. Disappointing experience overall."

"our first time at the seven stars and certainly not the last. amazing Sunday roast, honestly the best of all time! very generous meal, nicely cooked, absolutely delicious. simply excellent. our compliments to the cook and the team. so welcoming and friendly. the pub is warm and cozy, beautifully presented, in a stunning rural village. perfect. many thanks for a beautiful experience. I'm not here."
