We had a lovely visit to pub yesterday the staff were very welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious . Would totally recommend .

You will have a reasonable meal at a reasonable price here. The homity pie that was tasty, covered in mashed potato but did not need chips with it. Veg were very chewy unfortunately. The waitresses were friendly and professional.

A little hidden gem! The hotel we were staying in did not have restaurant facilities on Sunday evenings and recommended here to us and we loved it. Very friendly staff, varied menu and great service. The twice baked cheese soufflé was amazing and the crab salad delicious. Hubby had a burger that got 10/10 We would definitely return if ever in the area again Speisekarte ansehen

When staying at the crown we usually eat at fantails. However, we decided to try this restaurant. The roast is amazing here. The beef is cooked perfectly and beautifully pink. Their local ales are excellent as well and are a perfect accompaniment to the food. We also owe the servers an apology as we forgot to leave a tip. We will rectify this on our next visit.

Disappointing. A warm welcome, but a very dusty place. Food was cold , lemon chilli chicken sandwich had no taste, chicken thigh meat, on crusty baguette , which had a sliver of chilli spread or something, no taste of chilli or lemon. No butter either. Salad was two kinds of leaves, with oily dressing. Fries in a small pot and coleslaw. Only one person waiting on , good job it wasn’t busy ! Sadly we won’t be returning.

Nice pub, fires were on which was great as it was cold and wet outside. We had reserved a table but it wasnt too busy and it would have been nice to have been given a couple of options as we ended up squashed in a corner. Lunch menu is slightly limited but still a good range but the specials dont apply which was a shame. We had fish and chips and pie both of which were great portions and beautifully cooked. A lovely old pub in a village setting. Whilst the food quality was very good, unfortunately everything we had for Sunday lunch was cold apart from the roast potatoes and cauiflower cheese. We still ate it but wasnt as enjoyable and we should have given them the chance to rectify it but didnt as we were short of time. Even my sticky toffee pudding wasnt hot. The dining area lacked the charm of such an old pub and was very brightly lit so tiny changes would make all the difference. Staff were lovely

Just back from Sunday lunch with my wife 2 teenage children plus our friends and their 2 younger kids-The whole experience was very good. We were welcomed as we walked in, went up stairs to our table-drinks order taken right away and brought promptly-now the food, simply delicious-we have a variety of starter then all adults and older children had the roasts and they were all very very good, no room for desert but we had a couple to share-why not! Cant wait for our next visit-hopefully i wont be driving next time!!!

We found this little gem on Saturday on the way back home from a walk we were tired and very hungry. As it was after 2pm we were unsure if food was still available. We were assured that it was and we were welcomed by a wonderful professional guy behind the bar whose customer service was to be admired. Along with our small rescue collie he made us feel welcome. Honestly this country is one of the worst in Europe for great customer service and its always so great when you get it!! The food and the service were both excellent apart from one tiny thing which I feel is worth a mention.
