Not been for a few yrs, still excellent service and food. Highly recommend this place. Very clean, freshly cooked food to order. Just perfect.

The English food was over cooked and chips was burnt food needs to improve been several times but every time food his getting worse and getting expensive.

Worst mixed grill Iv ever had £22 he should wear a mask next time he robs someone. Partner had a steak which was cooked ok but had no flavour won’t be visiting again ! Speisekarte ansehen

Great food, the wife is gluten free and they catered really well for this, chef came and had a chat with us to make sure they were catering for our needs!!! Will definitely be returning

Went for a family meal and ordered sirloin steak which turned out to be so tough it was inedible. Complained to young man behind the bar, whose response was to roll just his eyes. He eventually came over took my meal away only to return it moments later saying the chef had said there was nothing wrong with the steak. Now unless he had taken a bite out of it, then I don't know how he came to that conclusion. I was refunded my money without any apology whatsoever. Extremely poor food, service and attitude. Certainly will not be returning.

Id arrived at the pub via a long walk on penines way. It was such a lovely place to be at and the bartnender who was on her own coped excellently with all the customers including myself. I really enjoy the homely feel at this place, the furnishings are excellent at antique level and it is really worth the price. Outside tv is flawless i mean who even has that in there pub, and yes weather protetected. Seem a varierty of customers and im really suprised its not as full as it it. We live a distance from here and on spur of moment went. We didnt realise it was a sports bar, had a nice welcome and asked if we could move from our reserved table as the lighting was dim. No problem at all. Lots of tvs in there, had a local match on, it was very noisy, load, which we didnt know of. Putting that aside we ordered steak for our meals. Rib eye sirloin, paid at bar and only waited bout 10-12mins for our meal lovely and hot, well presented and such a beautiful tasting steak, chips peas onion rings and mushrooms we on plate, very enjoyable and cooked perfectly as we asked for it to be done medium. My wife and I visit this gem a lot and she has a 8oz sirloin and I have the 32oz rump in the knowledge I won’t finish it and will make a lovely sandwich the following day. We had never had a bad steak meal and the service was always friendly and great. We rave about this pub to any steak lovers, or rather we did. We have recently been twice once as a couple and once having convinced our friends that they simply had to try it for a while and we finally made plans. Both times the steaks were gristly and as my wife and I order rare steaks, and on both times the steaks were over cooked. This was NEVER the case, the steaks were always amazing and the chefs knew their trade, perfectly cooked rare...

A family member had here recommended to them so along we went to give it a go. First impressions were where do we park? No car park that we could see for the pub but fortunately had arrived at 6 and was able to park outside some houses. (Feel for the people that live there mind as when we left the street was rammed! Went inside and found a great set up with a square bar that you ordered food and drinks from. Lots of large booth seating and the hugest amount of TVs I had seen. All playing the same things though…not sure if this is changed if requested. Quite noisy but it was fine. We were sat at a long table due to the number of us.
