The Thatch - Speisekarte

My friends and I returned for an early supper for a new year gathering. Great service, fab food. Such a lovely private space for us. And we got to use our vouchers from our previous visit!

We had the best Sunday roast lunch we can remember. Brilliant service. We sat in the old part of the building. Roast beef served to order with endless Yorkshire and roasts and gravy and greens. Worth the hour drive from London and then some.

I booked a table for 5 and my phone call was taken with a good energy and attitude. We turned up 10 minutes early to receive a warm welcome. The food was excellent. The timing between each dish was good also. We had a great time and were at no time swayed to leave. If you are considering a visit, make a booking, you will be delighted with the outcome. I went here for Christmas lunch with a group of friends today. We sat in the small dining room which was tastefully decorated for Christmas. We had pre-ordered our food which was served at the same time. Everything was great. The food, the wine, the service. Even extra vegetables and yorkshire puddings! There was a slight issue with the bill swiftly sorted with a credit note so we will back next month. This was the best meal I have ever had there.

My visit was just awesome the location, food and staff were just attentive and so professional, our waitress was a fantastic young lady called Lucinda she made our visit just so special. Such amazing service bringing extra vegetables and gravy on request nothing was too much trouble. Now the Sunday lunch was well cooked probably the best I have eaten for a long time. An amazing choice offers and wine mid range and more expensive. Well worth a visit booking recommend.

The Thatch was VERY busy all tables full with families and groups of friends. The service was cheerful, professional and prompt, and the food was delicious. Unlike some pubs, when busy, where the staff want you to leave as soon as you've finished eating, to make room for more guests, staff here were very obliging. Seeing that our family group were exchanging presents, we were asked if we'd like a break between courses which was very thoughtful. As a result we had a very enjoyable time. We came in for dinner on the spur of the moment on Monday evening so didn’t have a booking. We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables. Our food was delicious. The waitress, who looked after us very well, recommended the prawn croquettes as I couldn’t decide on a starter and they were wonderful. Both of us had the beef pie for mains and swapped the mash for chips and it was lovely. I enjoyed it so much I’ve booked for my 50th birthday. Hats off to the waitress for making us feel so welcome and for looking after us. Thank you

An excellent lunch experience despite the slight delay in the arrival of our mains. This was probably due to the number of Christmas parties going on. We hadn’t booked in advance but called in an hour before we wanted to eat and were dealt with promptly and efficiently. The menu was great and it was very difficult to choose which dishes to order. We were delighted with our choices as well as with the accompanying wines from the manageable wine list. The dining area (at the rear of the building) was comfortable and enhanced the dining experience. Service was excellent throughout our visit and we have already recommended the venue to our friends.

Lovely mid week dinner, will be returning. The staff were lovely and let us decide where we wanted to sit which I thought was lovely! The restaurant was decorated lovely, was nice and warm and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We both had the steak one of us had the filet medallions, the other had the rib eye. Both steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the chips were delicious too. Only downside is that they were out of a couple of options on the night and we did not find this out until after we had decided what we wanted. Luckily the steaks were so good we did not leave disappointed. Will definitely return to try some of their other dishes on offer! Speisekarte ansehen
