"We have ordered from Station India Portobello twice now. Ordering online was simple, the staff were very friendly when we picked up our food, and it was ready and hot right on time. We tried dishes we had never heard of before, like Pineapple and Paneer Tikka, Vegetable Katmandu, Paneer Lemon Chilli, and Immunity Veg (made with Indian herbal ingredients and honey, mild to medium spice). Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked, and not greasy. Our meat-eating friend loved the Lamb Ginger as well. We even received complimentary poppadoms with our orders, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, we are only in Edinburgh temporarily and will be leaving at the end of November. However, we plan to place one final order from Station India on our day off. In the meantime, we highly recommend treating yourself to a meal from this fantastic takeaway!"

"we're lucky that malvarosa is local to us. we do not feel the need to go to the city center for occasions, as we always get great eating in a beautiful atmosphere when we go here. we went on Friday night as a family group of 4 people. everything was delicious. the sangria is particularly recommended. tapas was great and homemade brot fantastic. we're coming back!"

"What wonderful staff this restaurant has. When I ordered prosecco they asked what the occasion was and I mentioned that it was my birthday. When our dessert arrived they'd turned mine into a little birthday celebration complete with music. This was totally unsolicited and a wonderful gesture! The maitre d' also noticed my daughter struggling to open the hand wipe after dealing with a langoustine and came straight over to help her, again without being asked. This was all absolutely 5 star service! The food itself was delicious, the lamb special I had was sublime and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her seafood pasta. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!"

"some families of us are located for a long weekend of butdeen and live in portobello. I've never been before, but they suggested meeting in guild of foresters for dinner. the outer and interieur of the bar/restaurant looks great, and very welcoming. the service was good, but waiting for the food was quite long. we were not in a hurry, but since we had children in the group we were not allowed to be in bar/restaurant after 20 o'clock. 2 of the group shared this castle and 2 of us had the makkaroniburger. the makkaroniburger was delicious, but I would definitely go for the castlebriand next time; it looked fantastic and I was informed that it was cooked to perfection. the gilde of the forest hosts is a beautiful place without inspiring for children or relaxed eating. have never been to portobello before I am sure to go back to guild of foresters."

"Gurkhas is a fantastic establishment! The food is authentic with staff making great recommendations on options. The service is friendly and attentive with staff knowing when to interrupt and when to let you enjoy your meal. The restaurant has good pacing between starters, entrees and mains. The food itself is incredible all the way from sauces with papadums through to mains, with amazing Nepalese tea to finish. Treat yourself to a great meal at Gurkhas!"
