Top quality food service. Recommend the haggis starter served with delicious whisky sauce. Would have given 5 stars but felt that Pinot was expensive at £9.15 for a large glass. Overall good dining experience in a comfortable restaurant.

The lunch menu provided good value at £17.50 and had a variety of options to choose from. The buffalo cauliflower salad was tasty, and the chicken and fish and chips were also enjoyable. There was a nice selection of desserts, with the sticky toffee pudding being particularly light and fluffy.

The service at this restaurant is extremely slow, with drinks taking a good 10-15 minutes to arrive after ordering. However, the food came quickly and was tasty. The prices are on the higher side. Dinner for eight including four Canadian relatives was abysmal. Two steaks were served cold with no veg. Replaced but was tough and never rib eye. Mussels were served with bread steamed inside the mussel pot and a tasteless cream sauce. Drinks service at the bar was poor. The only highlight was the professionalism of our Czechoslovakian waitress at the table. Won’t be back.

Previously excellent gluten free options. The restaurant and group have moved to a low gluten menu. With a party of three Coeliacs this is pointless and a complete backward step. Staff tried to convince me this was a positive situation it wasn 't. Burger was £16 and no sides (fries or potato option is gluten free) did not feel like value for money or reassuring that the kitchen was considering allergen needs. Very dissapointing.

We were down sorting our boat for winter popped in on Wednesday for breakfast then again today, we usually come for dinner. What a contrast today to what what we were served on Wednesday. The presentation today was far superior much more pleasing to the eye tasted so much better although same ingredients! We will definitely come back more often. We popped in for cake at coffee this afternoon and were not impressed. The new terrace had several tables with dirty dishes piled high and no staff to be seen. There was a queue of people trying to pay at the counter. We opted for inside the main restaurant area. We were directed to a dirty table by the front desk so we moved to a high table that was clean. Order was taken and arrived quickly which was good. Sadly the latte was basically half a cup of cold froth and the lukewarm hot chocolate looked like a 5 year old made it. Definitely not worth the near £12 bill. Would not recommend

I made a reservation for lunch, asking for a table in a quiet area or near the fireplace away from the main dining room. However, I was seated in a crowded area with no privacy. It took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order and another 15 minutes to take our food order. The first coffees were cold and came without spoons or sugar, adding to the wait. The food finally arrived, but the chips were cold and the sandwich described as bloomer bread was more like a cheap white loaf. It took another 15 minutes to order dessert, and another 20 minutes for it to arrive. After I complained, the server took the dessert off the bill. This is a place I loved to come to for the great atmosphere, food and service. That was a couple of years ago. In 2023 great new interior, but that's were it stops, young staff who chat more to each other, do not listen when taking orders, generally get it wrong, a simple request for water and ice becomes rocket science. Staff are distant, sometimes rude and arrogant, they look like they hate their job. I complained to head office and received a standard email response from the General Manager at Scotts which was an insult, it's obvious they don't care and especially the quality of food.
