"The most disappointing thing about this entire 'memorable ' experience is that the management did not take full responsibility for it. The service was so bad we look back and see it as funny. Booked for 8 PM on Saturday 4 April. We arrived 7.50, our table was still occupied so we waited in the bar no drama. Finally got to the table 8.45. Orders were finally taken 9.15ish. First order arrived 10.10 (for my 10 year old son who had never eaten so quickly) and then filtered through over 10-15 minutes. Two were sent back and one re-appeared around 10.40 so we had a solo eater on our table of 9 finishing around 11. They had their problems in the kitchen, which they acknowledged at the end, but their offer of the last two meals free was insulting. In the end we got 25% of the food bill, actually not much more than two meals free. There is an argument for at least 50% off, you could argue it was simply unacceptable and not worthy of payment but we had to negotiate with the Management eve to get the 25% of the food bill. If we had not have had 3 children in our group we would have walked. Communication along the way was poor. If they had told us earlier of the problems we could have made a decision to go elsewhere. We are disappointed for our relatives who live near-by and booked it. We are disappointed for the pub as a business because the service was simply not acceptable on any level."

Good selection, good service and excellent food. Don't know how anyone manages a starter or desert after the main meal. Worth a visit but best to book!

This is the nicest Sunday roast I have had out for a good few years. Food beautiful and Sue Gary are hilarious and can't do enough for you. Great portion size and great atmosphere. This is just how a village pub should be, great job guys. Speisekarte ansehen

We popped into this little hidden gem the weekend just gone and honestly it ended up the highlight of our holiday! The pub landlords and locals were so welcoming, the food was hearty and to die for and the price was great too! We will most definitely will be paying it another visit in the near future!

My wife and I had the main course of scampi chips and salad very nice and well presented. Sweet course was apple and strawberry crumble very good and generous size. Landlady is a local her parents live about 500 yards down the road. She is very pleasant and chatty. Very pleasant experience can highly recommend.

Well we just popped in for a quick drink I was blown away by the welcome! There was a problem with our payment method but they worked round it with landlady Sue (I think) saying we weren’t going without a drink. We had 2 dogs with us who were accommodated beautifully with dog biscuits thoughtful consideration that one of our dogs was not the best behaved with the pub dog! To top it all we managed to break a glass which was graciously dismissed. Never experienced such warm hospitality, honestly we will be back will try some of their scrumptious looking food. Thank you for making my day! Speisekarte ansehen

Called on an off chance as driving by and glad we did. We received a warm welcome and were pointed to the tap room as we wanted to bring in our 2 small dogs. The menu is not over extensive but what there is sounded appertising. They have a really good range of burgers that are different to the norm. I had Jalapeño burger and my husband had a venison burger. Both were delicious and looked and tasted like home made plus the chips were as nice as we have had anywhere. The landlord told us the burgers were made by a local butcher by hand and you could really tell.Overall the food was lovely and at a reasonable price and if in the area would definitely go again!Thank you

We popped in by luck on Saturday lunchtime as we were meeting friends in the area and we are so glad we did!Very very friendly staff, extremely accommodating and informative about the menu, which offered a great choice, and importantly a lot of local produce! We choose the rump steak, and the belly of pork both of which were perfection. Our little one just had a sandwich but we were told they could pretty much rustle her up anything!Didn't have space to squeeze in a pudding, but they sounded yummy.Very reasonably priced and excellent quality. The signage outside does not do this pub justice. We live in Kent but if we lived in the area would be there a lot. We've recommended to our friends that...

"We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top of their voices so we couldn't even hear ourselves having a conversation. If people have paid for a dining experience no matter how bad that was, they should not have to put up with a table full of loud, swearing locals who were just there for the drink, keep the two things separate! Really dark and dingy in the restaurant, we struggled to read the menu due to how badly lit it was. The waitress started the evening by telling us what wasn't available off the menu, which in itself seemed odd at the beginning of the weekend to of already run out of so much. Needless to say this one bad experience overshadows previous good ones, it looks like the place has gone down hill, we won't be back! Must say though this is by no means a reflection of the staff they were lovely, it's on the owners!"

"Had a look through some of the lesser positive feedbacks and have to chuckle. Went there for lunch today. It's often very busy and you can't always get a table. The reason a place is busy is because it's good. No one queues for rubbish. Managed to get a table straightaway 11.48) . Pleasantly greeted and pointed to the table. How many places actually take your order nowadays. So refreshing. Order taken and a few minutes later our drinks arrived. No reading a menuboard under pressure. No stacking food on trays like a juggling act, sliding along a rail. No waiting for your drink while your dinner is slowly going cold only to find the person in front has ordered three frappecappychismolatteamerocanos with choc sprinkles and spacedust! I ordered the ploughman's. Three decent chunks of cheese, half baguette, apple, salad, pork pie slice, Coleslaw homemade) chutney, grapes, pickled onions and celery. All excellent except celery, which is spawn of the devil in my opinion) I love a ploughman's and this is right up there with the best. I wanted to try their cake but was too full, so we took a slice home for later. Malteser cake was lovely and obviously home made one slice more than enough for two unless you need your clothes to fit you better) Didn't need an evening meal I hasten to add. Great service, home made food, very reasonably priced. What else do you want? Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very rare nowadays . Thank you."

"This is a very mixed review. The food at Rabia 's is excellent and we 've dined there before. But we will never go again. The payment and leaving processes at the end of the evening was ugly and unacceptable. It turned what had been a lovely dining experience into a poor one, one that I will long remember, but not at all in a good way. First, I noticed a significant difference between the itemized bill they gave us at the end of the meal and the credit card voucher that they process. There was no explanation, but when I asked (after waiting several minutes to get the server to come over, even though there were few customers at the time), I was told it was a 4% 'credit card fee. ' I 've never had this at another restaurant and it was not stated either on their website or even on the credit card voucher. Second, and even more costly, when we got to our car at the Haymarket (Parcel 7) Garage, they said our parking slip was NOT validated, even though staff of Rabia 's had told us twice that it was. I tried to call the restaurant that we 'd only left 10 minutes before and just got put into their voicemail. Again, they were not at all crowded. When I talked to the manager the next day, she denied any responsibility for anything. Her attitude was an immediate 'not my problem, ' to everything we discussed. Too bad. A restaurant with such an unwelcoming attitude will not last long."
